I am currently a two way starter on my football team and this year the lineman are going to shave their heads and get mohawks. I just had my blue and gold officer interview which went great, however, will a bizarre haircut like a mohawk hurt me in my interviews yet to come(my congressman, rotc professor, and army liaison officer). Any input would be appreciated...thanks!

Just be sure to explain to them that the mohawk is a team bonding exercise to get your team pumped for the season. The academies thrive on camaraderie, so I don't think it will be an issue. Anyone with more experience want to jump in?
 
Vamp is correct, just say sir/mam, I normally don't elect to wear my hair this way, but....they will probably laugh and maybe even will relate it to their own I understand, I remember when I...
 
Last year I didn't recognize my then plebe while watching his meet on the webcast...turns out they had shaved their heads the night before in a show of solidarity. Again, explain they "why's" and move on.
