Anyone see this new tab show up in portal? What does it mean? DS is a sponsored prep.

Are there emails listed there?
My DS has accepted, has the new tab which has 2 contacts listed with name and email addresses - no rank and don’t recognize the names, the email addresses are private(non academy or official) email addresses, 1 is a gmail address

no word on what these are or who the contacts are? 🤷🏼‍♂️

I had one listed at the beginning of my application process and it later disappeared. The email address belonged to a USMMA grad who was my local representative.

Well, this will be a difficult weekend. You might still email Admissions to try for a response. They often work on Saturdays this time of year. Hang tough.

I have a new tab with a private email for a USMMA Rep, however, the person is not listed in the online USMMA Rep roster, after some internet searching I found that the person is a Students Mother, I will leave it at that. I am not sure what it means as my status is qualified not selected

@Buoy12 sorry for the non-select. Let us know what you find out through that email address. Is it possibly a sponsored prep offer? Best wishes in whatever path you take.

Parents of former and current Midshipmen have attended training from Admissions and go to various high school events, college fairs, and Service Academy Days. They are called Admissions Field Reps. USMMA is a smaller academy and has fewer personnel in Admissions. This helps bridge the gap so USMMA can be represented at various events.

When my DS was applying to the various Academies I found parent reps to be quite helpful and informative. They have experience on both sides: watching their son or daughter go through the Application and admission process and receiving training on how the process works. Much like on this forum, they are available to help you with any questions you may have.

Good luck to you!
