One can find the dates of previous year scholarship Boards, but despite a diligent search I have been unable to find the 2009-10 Boards. Elsewhere it has been stated that one's package needs to be complete about two weeks before the Board convenes; that being said, does anyone know the dates of the NROTC Boards this academic years? Thanks.

my NROTC app is complete. this is what is says when i check my application status:

"Selection decisions will begin in late August and continue until the end of April. Once a selection decision has been made, your new status will be reflected."

Likewise, does anyone know the dates for AROTC?

For some reason I think I remember seeing a date of September 29th for the first board in something my daughter got in the mail regarding her status. Maybe I'm confusing this with some other date though...

NROTC Boards are scheduled as follows:

FY09C 10/14/09
D 11/3
E 11/17
F 12/8
G 1/12/2010
H 1/26
I 2/9
J 3/2
K 3/16
L 4/6-2010 And that's all she wrote!

NROTCDAD55 - Do you know if the boards have met already 1 or 2 times?

More NROTC questions

My son has completed his app and interview. The officer was very encouraging and told him to check the website in about 2 weeks. If the board doesnt meet until November, when will he actually know anything if he is selected? Will the notice also include the school they chose? Do they send scholarship offers after each board? How long do you have to accept or decline the scholarship (the colleges he applied to dont let you know about admission until early spring)? Thanks!

bulldog31 - I will recount my son's experience last year -
finished all and had screen show completed and sent to xxxx for processing by early Sept.
My son received a congrat's email from region in mid-November and letter within days - letter was official notification of 4yr NROTC scholarship award to specific college - VMI (and it identified that it was his 1st choice).
The letter gives you about 30 days to reply - form enclosed tells you to return by a specific date - for him it was mid to late December. Within the bosy of the package it details how you should accept and that you can turn it down at a later date.
The form further gives an option to decline it because of -enlsitment, academy appointment, etc.
It also states that it is conditional on medical
My son accepted, we copied the form before he mailed it to florida.
The award package also gives you lots of information - instructions if you wish to have another school's unit considered.
Last year son's regional place was richmond - that person sent updates to string of email addresses keeping all informed of boards as they approached. I believe that the first board was september, seemed to be one a month -but I could be mistaken -
All this information is for Navy ROTC only - that was the only one son applied for and only one we tried to keep track of.

A and B Boards

I only listed the C Board etc because the first two boards have already occured. A prior poster is right - you need to give it two weeks AFTER the board meets to hear anything officially (although there have been some postings that indicate that NROTC battalion reps have been known to informally congratulate the applicants who have gotten the nod BEFORE they hear it formally).

I was wondering if anyone who might have been in the October 14th board has heard anything yet, positive or negative.

NROTC dates from last year.

I know these are dates from last year but I'm guessing they can't be to far off for this year. So I'm thinking the next one should be the second week of Dec.
Have a happy Thanksgiving. : )

nice to know!

I am pretty sure there was a board that met on the week of 8 november this year per our coordinator. I don't think anyone has said they have heard results from it. Another good to know would be about how long after the board meets do they finally decide and does the website update with the scholarship offer information right away or is there consistent lag and how long until letters are sent out (I presume they use formal letters and not email).

In less words, how is one notified, how long does that usually take after the boards meet and what format does that occur?

From what I've gathered on this forum, It takes usually 2 weeks after a board review for applicants to find out via their online NROTC status.

Also, until recently, I was under the assumption people's DodMERB accounts would change prior to their official NROTC status changing. However, I read a post a couple days ago where somebody said their NROTC status reflected a scholarship while DodMERB had not.
