WAM! (Work Avoidance Maneuver)

:lolatyou:
Ha ha ha. She seems to be Missing the point!
Exactly, I clicked out and am about to click out of the one I'm currently in. It turns out I know more about what they are teaching than I thought I did.

Since working from home, my day is much longer, but more time for breaks. Same amount of work, but extra time due to no commuting. Keeping eye on two DS’s doing school on-line. One goes back on-campus next week🤞

In my case I really need to continue building my course on CANVAS as the students start next Tuesday.

My DS's high school just went to CANVAS. I like it. I got a copy of his NS-3 assignment for today which was to read the story of "A Message to Garcia" and then discuss. I like seeing what they are doing in his classes. After reading the passage, there were questions. There were a couple I did not know the answers to without going back to the passage. A perfect SAT example of reading the questions before the passage. DS is E-learning this week and goes back on campus next Monday.

Reading this forum, passing time before I go ahead and make a presentation to a group of nerds/experts in something I dont know much about.

I am on this forum, instead of doing homework for the college classes I decided to take after a hiatus of almost 30 years. I am also avoiding creating invoices for the vehicles that my husband just finished doing fuel pump and ac work on. This forum and some recipe sites are likely why I haven't reconcilled the garage checkbook in 2 months. :help:

If the bank balance says what your checkbook says, you don't need to balance it. I stopped doing that 20 years ago.
It's a wonderful thing.

And there in lies the rub. It never does! SO many transactions (we pay for every part as we go, neither of us wanted a large parts bill looming at the end of each month) and so I have to clean it up each month. Not horrible, but I have fallen astray. My personal checkbook hasn't been balanced in decades and it's fine.

Today, happily, is invoicing day, when I email invoices out to clients and update/back up spreadsheets. No problem getting motivated to do that.

I ran the finances for a Legion Post for almost 7 years and used Quickbooks. One of the features of Quickbooks was a built-in account balancing routine that allowed me to balance the account fairly easily whenever the bank sent a statement. Due to how liquor and beer companies set out their wholesalers, we had a fair number of suppliers and lots of deliveries and payments that we made every month.

So it is with even more chagrin that I admit to having Quickbooks for the business and still, I am behind in reconcilliations. I blame the bacon thread, the dog thread, the cocktail thread and basic avoidance.

Hello everyone, i'm back in this thread! Update: I am actually in the middle of my audit right now! The great thing is it's virtual, so unlike prior years where I have to look busy the entire time they are in my office, I had a 1 hour entrance meeting, exchanged a bunch of documents, and now here I sit surfing facebook, SAF, bothering my State U child about internships, bothering my DH while he's on a zoom deposition, and eyeing the lemon loaf I bought this morning.....I think I may do yoga after surfing SAF a bit. Who can concentrate during an audit?
