Peanut Allergy Qualification?

How do I clear the DODMERB with a mild peanut allergy (no anaphylactic reaction/rash)? If I get immunotherapy treatment for peanuts, would that qualify as waiverable material? Or if I get tested and found to have outgrown the allergy, would that qualify as well?

My symptoms are not life threatening and I can be in the vicinity/consume small amounts without any threat towards my well being. I'd there a way to get this solved after turning in the DODMERB results?

Go to the DoDMERB forum and read the FAST Sticky at the very top, by @MullenLE , the Deputy Director at DoDMERB. He will respond individually to your specifics but not anonymously in an open forum. He IS the primary source.

You send me an email: lawrence.e.mullen.civ@mail.mil; provide complete name and last 4; paste the posting to your email; generalizations to the way you presented the case above would be inappropriate. I can answer your specific case late tonight if I receive the email.

I am in your same situation. I was DQ’d for a peanut allergy about 2 weeks ago and am waiting for USAFA or USNA to begin a waiver. I passed an oral challenge about a year ago and have gone through oral immunotherapy and now eat peanuts everyday. I have no idea if I’ll be granted a waiver but am hopeful. Best of luck to you!
