Does anyone have information on the Academy's ski club or team? Can a C4C participate in the ski club and how often can he or she realistically hope to ski? I saw someone mention a season ski pass as a gift idea...even for a C4C? And where do cadets usually ski? Thanks

And while the ski season is open around November in many places, the ski club doesn't really start until after Christmas. But skiing is pretty much Jan-April. And the main advantage to joining the ski club is 2 fold. 1) Transportation is provided. 2) Ski trip (With the club) DON'T count towards passes used. Whereby if you went skiing this weekend on your own with a friend, it would require using a pass. CadCandMateus, correct me if I'm wrong. later... mike....

You are correct Mike... Going with ski club does not burn a pass. Currently there are 15 trips on the ski club schedule. 7 to Keystone, 3 to A Basin, 2 to Vail, 1 to Breck, 1 to Beaver Creek, 1 to Aspen. 3 overnights in that group. For 4*s it looks like five of the trips are over 40 days, so that may eliminate those if we are restricted.

There are a couple pass options. The Liberty pass is about $180 and gives unrestricted access to Keystone and A Basin. If you're 18, you can get the Colorado Pass for about $330 which gives unrestricted to Keystone, Breck, A Basin, and 10 days at Vail and Beaver Creek. If you're older than 18, I believe the Colorado Pass is $450.

Is the ski club for snowboarding as well as alpine skiing?

Mildly related topic: I've raced nordic skiing all throughout high school and would want to race in college. I know the Academy has a group, but from what I've seen it's classified as a club . . . Does that meet the intramural/intercollegiate sport requirement? I would presume that the team races other schools, and doesn't simply ski for the fun of it . . .
The same question comes up for Road Cycling (My other primary sport). I know there's a team but does that count?

I'm on the nordic ski club here now and we don't get out of intramurals, although we compete against the intercollegiate teams of other schools. Road cycling is a club just like skiing I think. Don't let that stop you, though. Intramurals in the fall end before skiing gets into full swing and if you're in cycling, you're gone every weekend on an SCA, which means you don't use passes.
