Elephant in the room...

When I leave I want some good time Rock and Roll and then Taps for the finale But I am still going kicking and scratching all the way.

Also, in this world of COVID, where conferences aren’t even playing? So odd....#LetUsPlay is a pretty big movement presently! I bet there are a lot of people that would jump at the chance to just PLAY.

Doesn’t matter. It’s a done thing. I’m watching college football today and loving it.

A fair number of mids leave in their first or second year, so don’t see the big deal here. In the end, it wasn’t for him. Just so happens he was the anointed starter on the football team, so warrants an article in the newspaper. Do like that fact that he owned it — said he understood why, just didn’t agree with it. He’ll be fine and USNA will be fine.

Wonder what the team did upon their return to Provo? Memphis football had an outbreak this week traced back to a party bus after their win last weekend. Memphis vs Houston was postponed and I believe Houston is now playing Baylor next weekend. VA Tech vs VA was slated for next weekend and postponed to later in November with GA Tech moving up in the schedule due to VA Tech (I think) having an outbreak. What a wild and crazy season. Team leadership really is going to be the key to teams making it through the season. Holding their teammates accountable for not partying and staying safe. Teams will eventually run out of weekends to make these kinds of shifts.

Is the Navy football team staying in their own quarters at Bancroft? Or with their companies?

Big Ten, that was cancelled, is revisiting a start today.

Talk about a roller coaster ride!!

The Navy football athletes are all living with their companies in the same common spaces, so if there’s a single carrier on the team, that will quickly spread throughout the entire Brigade unfortunately. I don’t know much about BYU but I think their students are supposed to abstain from typical college indulgences, so maybe the team didn’t go out partying after the game, after all it was on a Monday night too...Maybe they were carriers before the game and spread it to our players, maybe they contracted it during the game from our players, Or maybe they contracted it some time after leaving the stadium...Who knows...I have a bad feeling about this though :(. Our whole football team is tested weekly I think, so we’ll see what happens.

I wish him the best of luck

Navy, I understand that is a throwaway line in most cases. I don’t wish him bad luck. I just think he Is yet another average (at best) D1 QB with big dreams who got the best football situation he could at Army or Navy, trying to curate a path to the NFL.

If I’m going to pull for anyone, it would be for Dalen Morris. I’m sure he had dreams as well, which didn’t include holding a clipboard for three years. Apparently, he sucked it up, never stopped working and was rewarded. Sounds like a young man who is grateful for the luck in his life.

What if Morris, God forbid, were to become injured? Where would that leave his teammates?

I say good riddance.

I think I read they are increasing testing with the football team going to full contact... but could be wrong on that??? I hope they do. Yes, BYU has strict rules at their school, even for athletes. Had a handful of non-Mormon friends attend BYU on athletic scholarship, I mean they are like Mids... they find a way. Not saying that is what happened as BYU has not released any details on their contact tracing. I mean with how this virus works, it could of started with an equipment manager or any support staff (or player, coach, trainer, tutor, or anyone) contracting it and spreading it.

I actually wouldn’t even consider Olsen an average D1 QB. He fit the Navy system well. ‘Dual threat’ QBs coming out of high school are a dime a dozen in reality, with a few dozen really being elite... in terms of D1 (they were all elite at one time, but that narrows as the pond gets smaller). I don’t know anything personally about the young man Olsen, so I do wish him luck. I have nothing against him, life is too short, I hope he finds his happiness.

What I know is that he walked away from his team, which is a good indicator of his accountability to whatever team (military or otherwise) he would be a part of in the future.

I'll save my good wishes for Dalen Morris.

Perry Olsen is the better QB. If he doesn't actually leave I hope he gets put in.

Those kids had more contact with each other than our D did with BYU's offense.......

But Tulane better watch out, as I think there will be a lot of aggression taken out on them.

That is the truth! I do hope it’s a better Navy team this next week!
