Just received the interview date for our two senators. They are both doing their interviews on Saturday, November 7. What is odd is that it is the national SAT day. This is probably a candidates last chance to up their SAT score (I was thinking December was probably too late). Do you think the senators scheduling it on that date was by design or just coincidence?

That's hard. Do you have to go far for the interviews?

I know that within a 2 day span we have to be 2 hours away on the other coast of florida and then the next day 3 hours away on the west coast and north. It's also 2 days in a row of missing school.

Typically the date is selected after conferring with all members of the nomination committee's to ensure they're available to do the interviews.

Total coincidence.

They actually made the interview pretty easy. Both interviews are in the same location. Both Senators process seems to be very much in unison so I would doubt we will see two nominations to one person. What stinks is having to miss the November SAT :frown:

CJS do you have an interview with Senators Nelson and LeMieux too?

Just received the interview date for one of my senators, Arlen Specter on Nov 12. Anyone have any tips?

LivinLarger, are you by any chance in Wisconsin? Just wondering because those are the dates that Russ Feingold and Herb Kohl are holding their Milwaukee area interviews. And while they are both in Milwaukee, I don't think they are in the same building. I've got on at 9:00 that morning and at 12:00, in addition to an interview at my house tomorrow for Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner's nomination.

It's actually my son who has the interviews, not me!

And yes, he is meeting with Bill Nelson on Thursday in Fort Lauderdale and LeMieux Friday up in Tampa. He already had his meeting with our Congressman this past week.

You're lucky that they are in the same area.

Good luck!

That's for sure. My daughter has a 12:00pm & 12:30pm in one location, then has to drive 2 hours for a 4:30pm.

This makes me glad that I live in a bit city like Las Vegas - all of my interviews (I haven't gotten the dates or times yet but I can safely assume) are in close proximity.

That's nice that you have them in one day and a short drive away.

He had one last week that was only 45 minutes away. This Thursday is 2 hours away on the SouthEast Coast of Florida and then Friday is 2 1/2 hours away in Tampa.
It's tough missing 3 days of school today for my son with all his AP classes.

Good luck to your daughter!

WOW! I'm surprised the MOCs don't get together and try to avoid interviewing on the same date. In Ohio, our Congressman waits to hold his interviews until after the Senators have picked thier slates. Then Senators also collaborate. They hold thier interviews 2-3 weeks apart, so they can make sure to include as many applicants on their slates as possible without double nominating anyone for any one SA. They also all hold them on Saturdays. Our furthest is 1.5 hours away, and closest is 5 mins :)
