Hey guys,

I am currently in Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Course and on track to go to PLC-Juniors next summer, however, I have had some issues at school and long story short I am now under "University Disciplinary Probation" until November 2021.

The Dean of Students has stressed that this is a non issue for me at the university, especially since my violations were deemed "minor." However, I know when I applied for PLC I had to get a form signed stating I have never been under Disciplinary Probation.

Does anyone here have any experience with USMC PLC and maybe know something about the situation I'm in? What kind of consequences am I looking at moving forward with PLC? Will I be removed from the program?

I have not talked to my OSO yet about the recent developments.

TIA

I went ahead and moved this from prep school to OCS/OTS/PLC forum.

Best thing to do is be honest. Hiding something will get you in bigger trouble than disclosing it, especially if it’s something minor. My opinion, and just that, it will depend on how strong your app is and also how competitive things are right now. Good luck.

Thanks, I didn't notice this forum.

Also, thanks for the advice. I think I'll give my OSO a call soon and see what he says.

Unquestionably , speak with your OSO. Get a letter from Dean re Minor issue. As a former candidate in junior and senior 1966-67 , commissioned in 1968 and NYC OSO in 1970, as previously mentioned , your integrity is foremost as a Marine Officer and as a candidate. Good luck !!

Seacow swooped in and two days later was gone.

I’m betting he is working hard as I keyboard this getting ready to spend the summer with us here at beautiful Quantico by the River.

My son got a canteen stuck and he was hung up with his face under water. He couldn't get loose, was holding his breath, and thought for sure somebody would pull him out. He kept wiggling enough and finally got unhung and when he emerged on the other side, saw there was nobody there watching to have been able to pull him out.

I know this thread is old but I will go ahead and add some insight. Whatever legal, academic, or medical issue you develop in college while in the PLC Program, you need to disclose to your OSO. Explain to them your issue, own up to your mistakes, and explain your plan to improve. I knew a guy who got a DUI his senior year, he did not disclose this to the OSO and he had already went through both PLC Juniors and Seniors and was due to commission shortly after graduation. It came time to submit his fingerprints again before commissioning and boom, DUI showed up. He was out of the program immediately. OSO even told us had he disclosed this, he probably would have gotten the Moral waiver approved. No tears were shed for him and no sympathy was shown for him either. All that time and effort put into becoming a Marine Officer was wasted.
