I completed my package to Navy a couple weeks ago and last night my admissions officer called me to ask several questions about my application and myself as an applicant. Is this typical for admissions officers to do? Was this a good thing? Thanks

I got phone calls, and it turned out to be a good thing. Interpret that as you may.

They called my son on the day his file was complete to let him know the principal had finally submitted the last thing he was waiting on. Then they discussed that his BGO had noted that his first choice was AF and they wanted to make sure he was aware of all the opportunities Navy offered and basically discussed what he was interested in (major, career path) and the Navy in general. Next called back to tell him they were giving him an LOA. Incidentally, this all happened within a few hours.

My daughter's application was also completed a couple of days ago and last night, she had a message from admissions when she got home, asking her to call back before leaving for school this morning. She spoke with her admissions officer for over 20 minutes about similar topics as you describe. This forum has become a "go to" source for questions and trends. I also hope the call was a good omen! Best of luck to you.... post if you get news! (<:

My son received that call a year ago. His admissions officer stated that they were going to be putting his application before the board and that they wanted to clarify a few things on his application and wanted to represent him well before the board.

Shortly thereafter he received an LOA conditional on getting the nomination and completing his medical. He did both and is now a Plebe.

hopefully ill get an LOA and later an appointment. Thanks guys
