My son just got off the phone with the coach! He's so happy! Absolutely the best Christmas gift ever!

It's my son, not me. I'm sorry, but no, I don't know when the athletic endorsement was submitted. I've been fairly hands-off in the admissions process aside from the DoDMERB stuff since he's a minor. However, it was my understanding that the athletic endorsement would not have been the timeline decider, but rather just when his application happened to come up for EA review. I believe that, in general, applications are reviewed in the order they are received. In other words, it didn't seem like my son would be put ahead of any other candidates based on the athletic piece, but rather just that when his turn came, the athletics aspect would be one part of the overall review process that would be considered when determining whether or not he would get an appointment. As a parent, it seems like the Coast Guard is exceedingly even-handed in terms of sports affiliations not being the be all and end all for admissions, which is something I appreciate. Sorry I'm not able to be more helpful. The good news is that all EA candidates should be in the final phase of waiting. Good luck to all!
