Hi! My name is Prasun Sapkota and I am sophomore at Panther Creek Highschool in Cary, NC. I have had an interest in the service academies especially the Naval Academy since a young age. As a sophomore, I have a 4.5 GPA out of 5 and 1490 on the SAT. I have also founded my own student-initiated club at my high school, and have leadership positions in other clubs. I am also a perspective varsity football and track player (perspective because will be one entering junior year if not this year). I have researched a lot into the Naval academy and the admissions process. But I still have some questions regarding what I can expect in the application; they are as follows: When should I start to reach out to my ALO officer? How can I figure out who my ALO officer is? What will be asked in the pre-candidate questionnaire? Will, there be any essays on the pre-candidate questionnaire? What more can I do to make my appointment dream a reality?

1. https://www.usna.edu/Admissions/BGO.php
That link shows the regional coordinators contacts. You can reach out to your BGO right now if you'd like, my BGO actually criticized me(in a friendly way) for reaching out to him so late, in September of my senior year.
2. The pre-candidate questionnaire is the same application as your Naval Academy Summer Seminar application, which I highly recommend you apply to. It asks for your grades, class rank, Extra curricular, etc... it has two relatively short essays about your interest in the naval academy.
3. GO TO BOYS STATE. Do it. Gets you a bunch of points for the application, and a great experience. Start practicing your CFA right now, and I mean tonight. I really mean it start tonight. You will thank me later. Lastly, ask for your letters of rec and request your transcripts right when the application opens in the summer. get it done ASAP, because you have potential to get an LOA.
