Hello all,

I have a LoA (& am medically Q'd), and I just completed my Congressman's interviews yesterday. They told me that I wouldn't receive his principle nom because they wanted to give it to someone without a LoA.

If I receive one of the other nine noms on his slate, am I correct in understanding that that nomination (even though it is not the primary nom) satisfies my LoA's requirements?

Thank you in advance!

Yes - you are right. Many MOCs choose not to give a principal to an LOA recipient because by giving a Principal slot to another candidate they are assured of at least two candidates from their district an appointment. A nom is a nom and if your LOA was simply to get a nom - any nom will do ... sounds like your MOC intends to give you a nomination, congrats are in order! Some MOCs will wait quite a while to turn in their slate so while you may get official notice shortly, it also may not be done until late January (when the MOCs slate must be turned in to the SA).

If I do receive a nomination (I should find out today or tomorrow) would it be beneficial to others applying in my district/state if I cancelled my senators' interviews or would it actually work out to be helpful to them for me to continue pursuing the other nominations as well?

Thank you in advance!

I would just finish the process, honestly...it will all work out down the road for everyone else. They might even communicate with each other; you never know.

This has been addressed before and opinions vary. I would STRONGLY suggest you simply press on and continue to pursue as many nominations as possible. Keep your options open. And congrats, sounds like things are going well.
