Anxiety Dreams - We All Have Them

How about a loved one that’s passed, visiting you in a dream?

Wow...it was like I other experience I have ever had. Not sure what to make of it all, but it was more than a dream. I can still connect to it, about a month later. The timing was around the 1 year anniversary of the passing of my father.

Anyone else had this experience?

1. I have to get to class, but lost my schedule and don't know where to go (or which class it is).

2. There was some mix up and I never technically graduated HS, and have to go do it again.
#2 is a rough one.

Sometimes the more-than-dreams can really make you wonder about what’s possible. You just have to accept them as gifts. If you aren’t familiar with them, look up lucid dreaming.

Don't know if this counts as an anxiety dream but I had it last month and I remembered this forum. In my dream, I met Sting from The Police in the park, and I told him I thought Stewart Copeland was cuter than him. I don't remember much, but I do know that Sting was pretty angry. Perhaps the stress was from having someone from a band I like mad at me.
Major points for interesting people!

I have #2 except it's college. I have to get 3 more credit hours or lose my job.

Remind me if they were before or after the Blackberry craze - I had both! Thank goodness the Nextel phone went away. Nothing like being a meeting and someone beep you and start talking immediately. I had nightmares of that, being a young engineer in a room full of management!

When my wife was PG with our first born 30 something years ago my maternal grandmother came to me in a dream. She was wearing green scrubs with the scrub robe and was holding a newborn girl with lots of black hair. She didn’t speak but I could hear her saying, “Here’s your baby girl.”

We didn’t want to know the gender but after the dream I knew she was a girl and what she looked like. I haven’t dreamed of her since but think of her often. My daughter dreams of my mom and deceased younger sister about three times a year. They both seem happy and healthy which was not the case with them in life.

So interesting! Some things in life just cannot be explained, and it’s better so.

I have had another experience since that dream. While awake. That I cannot explain, and it’s otherworldly pertaining to my dad.

I’m open to all of it and find it oddly comforting.

I watched a Netflix shirt series, and it was very, VERY interesting. The science of death, and the unexplained. Fascinating, especially the children.

I'll check out the NETFLIX show soon. My mother was in self-induced poor health and during one of her surgeries she arrested (heart stopped). She had an out of body experience she described as hovering above in the OR and watching them working on her. She dropped out of school in 8th grade but described everything and everybody in the room as well as if she worked there.

I've read these events are attributed to neurotransmitters firing out of whack as the brain shuts down but dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin doesn't all of a sudden put an overhead picture of a surgical procedure in one's memory. Especially a pic in which the memory is of the person.

The one that always terrorized me was the one where I am falling. Always wake up before I landed.

You will LOVE that series. The first one actually is a doctor that has the experience. Similar to what you are saying. And all that science stuff is touched upon. Seriously the children stuff will blow your mind. It’s one of the last episode.

Here is my recurring dream, although I haven’t had it in awhile. I’m on a baseball field, bottom of ninth inning. We are down with runners on. I get a clean hit, runners score, but as I’m running to first base I notice my legs are numb. I can barely move, like my feet are in wet cement. The outfielder picks up the ball and throws to first getting me out. This nullifies the runs scored and my team loses. From hero to zero in an instant.

Classic.

1. SCHOOL
Wandering the halls of high school while others are in class (knowing I should be in one, but which one?), not knowing my schedule, not being able to find my locker, not being able to remember the combination, conjugating verbs in French (I took two years in middle school, German in high school), weird math that you learned once and never had to use again except in your dreams 35 years later).

2. AIRPORT / SUBWAYS
Missing flights and being lost on the public transportation, with a big map in hand, in some huge city

3. TEETH
All my teeth cracking out of my mouth and spitting them out in crumbling pieces

4. PATROLING
the grounds / unlocking the gate of some weird remote piece of property where I don't think I've ever really been

Quite the library. All classics again.

I absolutely have #’s 1 and 3!! I understand the meaning behind #1...but not #3. Nor have I ever heard of anyone else dreaming this.

Hopefully just tooth trauma! Probably connected to my sledding accident in 4th grade when I knocked out half of my front tooth (on Superbowl Sunday Steelers/Cowsboys) and then our dentist decided not to crown it until I was in 8th grade! Lovely. Just when you start having crushes on boys! Say cheese!

All four sounds like scenes from a Walking Dead episode.

I've had dreams about my mom. She passed away just over 2 years ago. They have all seemed so real and I always woke up with a feeling that she's letting me know she's OK. I never woke up distressed or sad. Of course made me miss her even more than normally in those moments but it was never a "bad" dream. Netflix has an interesting few episode series called "Surviving Death". Very intriguing!
