My son received a call today that he received our Congressman's nomination to USNA.

I post this, not to brag, but because noone in our family/circle of friends even has an idea what this means. They don't understand the entire nomination/appointment process and all the hard work he put into preparing three nomination packages! They think applying to a SA is like applying to a civilian college and, while they are very sympathetic and thoughtful, they keep saying "Oh, he'll get in!" They have no idea how competitive these academies are!!

I know that you, who post on this forum, understand this exhausting process and I just wanted to say that he is one step closer to his dream.

Thanks for listening!

Congrats Fairwinds to you and your son! And we all fully understand how you feel and yes, this is the place to brag! :thumb:

My son had two interviews last weekend, one more to go and is now just waiting patiently (or not!).

Good luck!

CONGRATS! It is an exhausting process that not many people appreciate. You've done good!

I agree, this is a place to brag. We all understand what your family (every member-sometimes through sacrifice) has done to get to this point. You are correct when you say that others don't understand what it took to get here. There are those out there who don't want to know about your success, but be assured, we do:thumb:.

Congrats!!

It's a wonderful feeling isn't it?! My son received his letter last week with his nomination to West Point and we have it hanging on the fridge!!

Thanks!

Thanks for all the nice messages.

It's great to have this forum to share good news and commiserate when things are not going so well!

Congrats!...long time reader and first time posting here. This forum has been a Godsend of information and happy to report my son got the call today...congressional nom to USNA and USMMA! Good luck to all who haven't heard yet. Holy cow, I can breathe a little now

My son just received his 2nd nomination, this time from JROTC.
We'll hear from the Senators in December but I do believe that they talk down here in Florida and don't like for the Senators and Congressman to nominate the same people.

My daughter received her JROTC nomination a few days ago, and received a second nomination from an MOC yesterday. She was told on Friday that her interview was at 4 o'clock on Saturday. She had a drill competition all day which worked out because it kept her from stressing too much and she was in uniform. She was the last one interviewed and received her letter of nomination on Tuesday! How's that for quick work! Now we're waiting to hear from one of the Senators that doesn't interview, only reviews your packet.:thumb:

My daughter received her MOC nomination today. Another milestone reached... more waiting to come...

She also received a letter from USNA admissions indicating she was Scholastically qualified... same letter she received 2 months ago. Funny, since her app has been complete (3Q'ed) since early September.

My son recieved a nomination yesterday to the USNA!! He too had recieved a second "Scholastically" qualified letter last week!! (His first leter arrived in October) !? We are so excited for him...just waiting for the nom to show in his status! Good luck to all out there who are waiting to hear of noms!!
