Sorry if this has been addressed already but... About how many out of high school students do they send to NAPS? Also, I have read some people already got letters to NAPS. Do they make these offers early or when ever your application goes before the board? Thanks.

I believe there are about 200 NAPS h.s. students, but the number could be less. The decision on NAPS/Foundation is made by the Admissions Board at the time they review your packet. Some candidates' packets are reviewed earlier than others, typically because they're completed earlier. However, some candidates may be deferred -- with the Board waiting until later in the year to decide whether the person is qualified for a direct appointment, is going to be offered NAPS/Foundation, or will be turned down.

There is space at NAPS for approximately 300 students total. The current class up there is the largest that Navy has sent. There are no longer any Coast Guard or Merchant Marine candidates at NAPS. Here is the breakdown of how the current class started out:

TOTAL CLASS: 307

PRIORS:
NAVY: 15
MARINES: 10

MALES: 249
FEMALES: 58

Wow that's a big class, USMAPS started out with about 253 this year.

And every PLEBE that gets a NAPS or a PRIOR roommate is very lucky.:thumb:
