Increase chances of admission

I'm a junior in high school now and I have a brother who is currently a cadet at West Point and was wondering if having a brother or sister currently at west point increases your chances of admission at all? Or maybe increase your chances of a nomination? Thanks

Im no admissions counselor, but to me, it seems like you should focus on making yourself into a competitive candidate by taking concrete steps like maintaining good grades, holding leadership positions, and writing great application essays rather than wondering if related alumni can get help you get in. Im sure it will, but it probably will be at the bottom of the list when your file goes through the admissions board!

Yes it does in what's called the "Whole Person Multiplier", that is factored in on your score. I have seen numbers for the Navy and I'm not sure if it's the same for Army but, a multiplier like that is worth about 500 points on your score; a great score is about 58,000 so it does help along with your other great attributes.
