Fair winds and following seas....

...and start on those sea projects right away!

My 2011A Splitter is heading to Hawaii - MSC ship in the Pacific.:cool: Where is everyone else going?

My 2012 A splitter should have arrived to meet her ship at Yeosu, Korea this morning (Korean time). She's on the SS Cape Jacob - a MSC ship staying in the Far East, mostly Korea and Saipan.

Parents of those away at sea please keep us posted as to how they are doing so we know what to expect when it is our turn. Thanks I wish all those away a safe return and an easy completion if their project!!

Before flying to Hawaii to catch MSC ship, DS has to go to Naval Station Norfolk for more medical testing. Patton wasn't enough I guess.

Mine is in Japan and will be on a tanker - Maersk Rhode Island.

2012 A Split

My daughter is in the Middle East on a RO-RO. Her first email said the boat & food were great and she has a private room and bath (a great reason to have a male sea partner - he likes his private room & bath also :thumb:). They were waiting out a sand storm in one port and getting ready to go into dry dock in a couple of days.

Mine son is doing 30 day internship on a Coast Guard Cutter...then who knows where for the rest of the time :)

tramp tanker , a handy-size tanker.
In the Goldilocks-world of tankers, it's not too big (supertanker), nor too small... it's juusssttt right (the Handy-size is in the middle).

From the pics I've seen... it's still HUUGGGEEEE.

The 'tramp' part is no fixed delivery schedule. Not like a water version of our Postman's route (like the first sea period was). They go where the next CONTRACT takes them.

So far, Japan->Korea->Guam.
Cool !

Last word, DS was on Waikiki Beach. Remind me of this next time he complains about KP. He does his first underway replenishment of an aircraft carrier in the Pacific today. Pretty cool.

She's still off the coast of Korea. She says the work is fun but exhausting. Oh, and the food is wonderful. She was gloating over what was served for Thanksgiving by comparison to what we were having at home, the ungrateful little so and so.

God speed and safe sailing to all in dangerous waters!

Yeah, DS said he once had Kobe steak prepared by a former cook for the Greatful Dead. It really makes it hard to go back to Delano.

Must have been Pete on the Sealand Meteor as cook. Is that the ship? I know the crew, he's in good hands

How are you all handling Christmas? I'm trying to think ahead here to next year . . .

He missed last Christmas also. What little he asked for he got while he was here. Looking to next Christmas.

This thread is so interesting. Thanks to everyone for posting where their loved ones are off to! The more my son looks into KP, the more he likes about it. But, I have to say, I will have to take up meditating or something to get myself through these cruises!

Makes me wonder what went through my Mother's mind when my brother and I were in South East Asia.
