The score does not reflect how close this was!
Great Game!
Again!

On to TEXAS ... GO NAVY beat MIZZOU

I really wish the cadets had been able to score a TD (just one !), feel bad they aren't going to the EagleBank Bowl........but their plebe QB will be back strong next year !

BZ to NAVY TEAM !

Go NAVY beat MIZZOU @ the TEXAS BOWL :thumb:

I was at the game, my first ARMY/NAVY game and it was great. Nothing like freezing your toes off to watch two great teams fight in the biggest rivalry known to man. Both teams did great, but as usual NAVY WON!!!! Lol. An amazing end for my first game. I am just bginning to get the feeling back in my toes, lol.

As an USNA alum, personally I'm glad to see USMA on track to be competitive again. I root for them every week, except for the week they play USNA.

Things are looking up for them and that's good. A tough loss today but they'll be back next year. And, I kind of wished they'd be in the EagleBank bowl -- other than for the fact they'd have to have beaten Navy to do it . . .

I was very impressed with Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo and his, 'on the field' post game interview. He was very emotional and said [paraphrase] it was "only a game" and he's proud of "these kids" meaning both teams, and that they exceptional for the patriotism.
Class act to say the least. :thumb:

And yet, that was one of the warmest Army-Navy games. When I was a midshipman (70's), it was borderline torture!

The Army-Navy game is not as much "fun" for the midshipmen as many people think. They get on the buses at 7am ... drive 2.5 hrs to Philadelphia ... mill about the parking lot for over 2 hrs in freezing temperatures before the march-on. Once in the stadium, they have to wait over 2 hrs for the game to begin. Once it begins - they NEVER once sit down. And the game moves at a snail's pace because of all the "media timeouts". Then they have to face the 3hr drive back (because of the traffic).

Add precipitation into the equation ... temperature in the teens ... and you have a recipe for sheer torture.

Seriously, I remember thinking, "Dang! I really don't care who wins at this point. Let's get the heck out of here."

This last Army-Navy game had sunny skies and temperature in the high 30's. Luxury compared to your typical game.
