I posted this in admissions status but it didnt really seem to flow with everything else so i posted it here...

Yesterday, someone from the admissions office called me, wanting to make sure I completed the application, because I was "Someone they really want to see here", and asking if I had any questions about the application. While that sounds promising in a way, I was worried that maybe they didn't received my application, considering they were calling while all the letters are being mailed out (I still haven't received one). But on the website, everything is grayed out and I believe i received a confirmation email. I asked the caller if my application arrived and he told me he would check on it. Is this just standard procedure to call everyone, am I missing a part of my application, or what shenanigans is the admissions office up to here?

Not sure if I would call it "shenanigans" when Admissions Officers see this site.

Not an expert here but I would think if you had not completed your app they would have said somthing to you about it. I have not got a phone call ( got a deferral letter today). What does your app status say on the DoDMERB site say?

Admissions issues a list of candidates who have not completed their application. Some of those names are passed on to the State AAP coordinators for distribution to their local AAPs, who then make the calls to encourage prospective candidates to finish and submit their application.

It is entirely possible that you have completed the entire application with nothing missing, but you were called by mistake.

I sincerely doubt that anyone in the AAP program nor anyone in the USCGA Admissions Office is up to any "shenanigans" with your application or status.

Unless you know the name of the person who called you, so you can follow up directly with them, I would recommend you contact your Admissions Officer to confirm your status.

when I say shenanigans I mean that as an endearing term :shake: the admissions office has always been prompt, organized, and helpful!

but the person who contacted me ran the FIT program at the Academy during AIM, and I assume works in admissions. My DoDMERB status, when I logged into DoDMETS, says "you completed your medical history on 'date'" and then under the panel "application status", the very first category says "current status: " and mine is completely blank, which changed today from incomplete to blank. Still no mail today, defferal or acceptance. But CA is a long way from CT...
