Heya. My name's James. I'm applying to both the United States Naval Academy and the United States Military Academy.
I'm the team captain of my school's wrestling team, and my high school experience has been rather unusual; I spent my freshman and sophomore years at The Peddie School as a boarding student, and my junior and senior years at a public high school in Texas.
My grades are good; I get straight As, and my course load for senior year is : AP English 5, AP BC Calculus, AP Physics, JROTC, AP US Government and Politics, Business Imaging and Multimedia(Basically a Photoshop course), and Wrestling.
I am a Platoon Leader in my JROTC unit.
My mentality is rather unusual. For example, a few days ago, I was at a wrestling tournament. I was in my last match, wrestling for 3rd place, winning 5-1 in the second period, when I performed a mat return on my opponent out of bounds. When we hit the ground, I heard a crack. I stood up, and looking at my hand, discovered that I had dislocated my left middle finger at the middle-knuckle, and it was now sticking out at a very unpleasant angle. My immediate response? I start laughing maniacally. Then I walked over to my father(He's a doctor), who was in the corner, and with a quick *crack*, he put my finger back in its' socket. Still laughing, I make sure that it is really back in its' socket, and return to my match, which I won 7 to 1.
I have nominations to USMA from Senator Cornyn and my JROTC Unit.
