The Citadel wins the Military Classic of the South

A great atmosphere for a college rivalry game that had tradition, large crowd, strong representation from VMI fans and Keydets in Charleston, fighter jet flyover, big plays, upset, firing cannons, push ups, Summerall guards at halftime, Alma Maters sung at the end of the game, and of course the Shako Cup presentation.
To top it off, this was my first time seeing these two play and the game ended with a double rainbow over the field.

Friend of mine is a knob at El Cid. At the end of the game great to hear the leave orders. Senior... Overnight! Junior...Overnight Sophomore..Overnight! Freshman...................................Overnight! He fell asleep on the drive back home, and would not wake up to anything(until we played Reveille through the speakers, he woke up instantly haha)

My rat is in there somewhere. He said they had an amazing trip. They got to visit with some of the Citadel cadets. What a great experience for him. I loved the sign being held up by the Citadel cadet that said, " VMI has rats" during the football game.
Hope your son wasn’t one of the rats trading hat brass with Citadel Cadets. That’s a $50 mistake! No joke, citadel brass is mass produced and costs about $5.25, while each VMI hat brass is handmade at the Armory and are $50!
Imagine there are a lot of unhappy rats buying new hat brass today!🤣

Glad your son enjoyed the trip, I wish we had that opportunity to do corps trips when I was a Citadel cadet although as a member of the Regimental Band we did make some trips to away games including Navy, Clemson and Georgia Tech. I went to Lexington for the VMI game my senior year and luckily enjoyed a big win, ironically Bobby Ross was the Citadel coach when the Silver Shako was inaugurated.
