How do I find CFA Administrator for my son?

One BGO agreed to adminster CFA provided we find a place.

Assuming we found a place, do we have to pay BGO any fee? What is the protocol?

Thank you!

The CFA must be administered by a high school PE teacher, a coach, a current JROTC instructor, an active duty commissioned officer, or the candidate's Blue and Gold Officer.

No fee.

BGOs are all volunteer, no fee expected or desired.

Your son should do the legwork to find a venue, gather required materials and communicate the plan and any back-ups in a timely manner.

Can a coach from a sport the applicant does not play administer the test? I play baseball but was wondering if my school’s wrestling coach could do it

Yes, that is fine. There is no requirement that the coach has to be one that has coached you personally. This requirement is in place for two reasons: integrity and familiarity. Integrity is self-explanatory. If a candidate/parent (i.e. someone who is personally very interested in your particular success) is allowed to submit results, the temptation to fudge numbers is higher compared to the approved evaluators. Along the same lines, coaches/PE teachers, officers, etc. are all either familiar with the CFA itself, military fitness testing, and/or fitness testing in general. This ensures the test is properly administered.

Best of luck!

What does your specific service academy website say? If you want to inquire about whether this is possible, I recommend getting an answer from an official source, not an unofficial one like this.

For example, the USNA website specially includes a coach.
The USMA “who can administer” does not.
I just did a quick lookup on those; you’ll want to verify.
Do your research, contact your SA for clarification if needed.

I assumed USNA with the BGO reference.
