What do most of the freshman cadets do over Spring Break? The Academy's Spring Break is after all the Spring Breaks here in Texas so all our son's friends will be back in college.

A lot go home to visit family and friends. Some go on vacation to "spring break" areas. Some take vacations elsewhere. It depends on what they want to do.

Our break falls a week after most colleges, so I might just go to Florida or Mexico if I can. Maybe to Luke AFB to get an F-16 ride.

If I went home I'd probably be pretty bored, but I hope to go at least a day for spring break.

EUROTRIP!!!!!! (You made out with your sister???????)

Usually, the first spring break is at home. Why? Because. By the 2nd year, students starts looking at hanging out with each other. Some group up and go to the warm weather places. Some group up and go to one of their towns. I.e. 3-4 might go to one cadet's house in Florida. Many options. I'd rather do the Eurotrip, but spring break is only a week long. Save those for the summer/winter breaks. Or after graduation.

yup, because our break is after everyone else's, i had a group of friends and we headed to orlando for a week at disney/seaworld/universal and a free condo. good bonding time

I am still hoping to be in the class of 2014. Just dont let my mom know that a bunch of cadets sometimes get together and head to Florida. We live close to Orlando and Daytona, so she would probably invite everyone here to make sure I would be coming home to visit! LOL!

At last year's spring break, which is of course right after recognition, my guys were home recuperating from some horrible flu they had all during recognition. Each one came home on antibiotics and were still feeling relatively poorly midweek. After some ministrations from their (saintly) mother, they returned healthy. ;)

I think Gasdoc's family goes on a spring trip, which a lot of family's do. I think some of the older cadets do religious mission trips too.

From my own standpoint, I don't care if my kids are bored. They care. ;)

On this year's calendar, there is a week of school after Recognition and before Spring Break. Seems logical to have Spring Break after Recognition weekend to me but, of course, I have no say in the schedule...

I was told it's always that way so that the 4th class have a week to feel the difference in now being "upperclass". If they left right after recognition, the week at home would dilute the profound difference.

We met in Cancun for several days following Recognition as a treat for both the boy and the family. We had a great time. He now spends his Spring breaks with the team (WOG, PTWOB).
