Congrats on the nomination. Did Souzzi himself call you or somebody from his office? Christmas Eve was a federal holiday this year becuase Christmas fell on a Saturday. Impressive.
You still have time, also, did you apply for ROTC scholarships?

No ROTC, I already have an appointment to Coast Guard & and an LOA to USMMA. I am a lax recruit, so I’m remaining hopeful for the appointment. I was working on ROTC, but applied EA for Coast Guard, and got my appointment in early December, so scrapped ROTC. Definitely, personally, prefer academy over ROTC (no disrespect to ROTC, personal preference).

I know of a few students who received nominations from Senator Kaine. They were notified shortly before Christmas. My son has not heard so I assume a rejection letter is forthcoming.
My DS received a nomination from Spanberger (VA-07) before Christmas and a TWE from Senator Warner but nothing from Kaine. We assume a rejection as well but nothing yet. Senator Kaine's application was intense.....it would be in very poor taste if his office does not notify applicants of their standing one way or the other.

Oh wow! Congrats! You're in far better shape than I am, I just have a non-committal, zero guarantee Nomination which will be placed on the admissions board roulette wheel with everyone else's. I've read the LOA is more powerful than the Nom, if you do not get the NY Nom, USMMA will find one for you out of state, the DOD, VP, etc., you are going to USMMA my friend, but why Merchant over CG? I'm hedging my bets for ROTC since I've been in very good communication with the schools AF detachments I applied to, would be nice to go to the academy, but the process is too much of a wildcard, plus you're a recruited athlete, you guys are looked upon more favorably. FYI, I played on the Recon lax club before Garret when the team was awful, still had a fun time though.

Are you an applicant for the 26’ cycle? And thank you for the info as well
Yep. As I mentioned to Pmaclax, my Nomination as well as everyone else's will be placed on the Admissions Board Roulette Wheel, still a very long shot to get an appointment, I hoping ROTC comes through.

Strange… I had called Suozzis office yesterday and his head of dept. said that decisions were still being procured and that they were still working on reviewing all applications

Still undecided, meeting with CGA coach/team at a game on 2/26, and awaiting an announcement on new head coach at USMMA, as the coach retired. I go to Doms with QC, a lifer on that Recon team. Also hang with KP from HT, another lifer. Small world.

Interesting, any news/word on what's going with Gillibrand & Schumer Noms?

-So Suozzi‘s office gave an ambiguous “few weeks”
-During Gillibrand’s interview they said “early to mid January” (last years came out on January 14th)
-Schmer has historically always handed his out at the very end of January

I’m really hoping for Gillibrands to come out by the end of this week but I guess we’ll see:yikes:

Thank you! I only had interviews with Suozzi and Schumer, nothing with Gillibrand, very strange, not sure if their offices discuss who gets called and who gets what, I would like a few more in my deck for insurance, but you only need one I guess.

Small world indeed. All the best to you, we will all land somewhere and wherever it may be, it will be all good.

Still no news from MD Senators. Last year, they were at the end of the month. That, or a NROTC nom would be his only options.

Appreciate the positive vibes from everyone. He's staying with the NROTC program until told otherwise. Hopefully a shot at the scholarship through them (4-year national one he's in for, or a side-loaded 3 or 2-year in the future).
