I know many have said they have been called but I have been told that those are "unofficial". Has anyone received an actual letter for the Marine Option?

dang

Yeah- Waiting patiently is becoming more and more difficult.

William,The folks at MCRC control all NROTC Marine Corps Option scholarship selections. They have not notified us of any selections to date for the 2010 School Year. If you are a selectee, you will be notified from our organization (NSTC) in Pensacola, FL once those selections have been made known to us from MCRC.

After digging for some answers I received this E-Mail as confirmation that for the Marine Corps Option no applicants have been selected. Hope this re-assures some that you are not being left out or forgotten...we are all waiting patiently:smile: Good Luck to all!

I was told my my recruiting station's XO that we were supposed to hear right around Christmas time, and the most likely day was Christmas eve. How wierd.

wow

Yea same here...I have to say I am really dissapointed, I was told for sure before Christmas, and the second board meets in January. Are we not even going to find out before the second board meets? This is getting ridiculous.

It would be less frustrating if we knew why it was taking so long to release the results.

Always heard the Marine Option takes the longest; good luck fellas!

.....still waiting here too. Son submitted on-line app in April! Pkg was complete for first board, but he hasn't heard a word yet. He too was told decisions were likely around Christmas. Just waiting for some good news, please!

Sadly, my future marine did not make the local scholarship award, and is on to the national pool. He spoke to the recruiter yesterday, but no letter or change in status on NROTC web

Finally

I must say...Today has been a very suprising day. I almost never check the mail because I usually get home from school an am too lazy to get it. However, today felt special and I got the NROTC Marine option scholarship. Guys the letters are coming.

I called down to the HQ and they said that the reason it was taking so long was because their "systems" kept glitching but everything was fixed and the letters were sent about 2-3 days ago. In my letter it stats that in about 7-10 buisness days my DoDMERB papers would follow.

Thanks for the support and Best of Luck to all Applicants!:thumb:

Unrated: If you don't mind me asking, what part of the country do you live in? Just wondering to see how far the letters have traveled.

NC, but keep in mind when I called to HQ on the 4th they said that there were a lot of glitches and problems and that they can not send them all at once untill the glitches were fixed. I just got lucky enough to have mine sent. I hope yours did as well.

That is fantastic news. Son notified by phone over a month ago, but still do not know what school  Hopefully letter will include that info so we can begin planning housing etc! At least he is been accepted into all of his top five. Congrats!!!!!

My son was told by his recruiter that he did not make the local board award for the NROTC Marine option, so his package is off to the National Board. Keeping our fingers crossed, and the looooooong wait continues! At least another 4 weeks, if not more. :frown:
