Hey everyone. I recently was listed as DQ by single disqualification on DoDMERB. The codes used to disqualify me were D211.50 and D211.52. The specific reason was for a concussion I had at age 3 (2007). With this injury, I had a skull fracture, but the code used only seemed to cite “brain injury” (concussion). I have no lingering effects or current symptoms and I mentioned that in my exam packet. My doctor at the initial exam also marked the issue as resolved. The concussion did not result in amnesia or unconsciousness. The other code referenced the fact that I had multiple head injuries. Although I did have sports related head injuries in the years following, none resulted in a concussion. Additionally, I have never suffered unconsciousness or amnesia. I explicitly said this in my DoDMERB exam packet and my doctor at the initial exam marked my issues as resolved. Unfortunately, I was disqualified. I have no lasting affects related to head injuries and have repeatedly been concussion tested as standard protocol for high school athletics with no issues arising. All of my head injuries were marked as resolved by the doctor at my initial examination. I am currently “Under Waiver Review” for the United States Naval Academy. Despite initial DQ, is there any way I can become qualified because I do not have any current or recent problems associated with head injuries?
