Hey all, I'm currently an MS2 and received word today that I will have to go through the waiver process. I got denied because of "Current or history of recurrent orchitis or epididymitis," and I was wondering about the likelihood of the waiver request being granted. I knew going in it would be a problem, and I'm hoping it's just more hoops to jump through, but it is a little worrisome.

Thank you for your reply, sir. The link did provide some clarification and did put my mind a bit more at ease.

As a follow-up question, because I've gotten two different answers (one from an individual in my school's ROTC department and another from my DODMERB contact).

Who initiates the waiver process? On one hand I've been told that it's done automatically through the surgeon's office, and on the other I've been told that it's my ROTC dept. that has to initiate it.

What Service ROTC? Army, Navy, Air Force? Are you a national award winner or campuse based applicant?

Previously, your PMS must have submitted the waiver request. A recent change is, they will automatically review for medical waivers.:wiggle:
