The long wait... (Just a vent post)

I have just received my medical waiver for West Point after waiting patiently for roughly 2.5 months. Now that I am 3q'd, all I have to do is wait for a response until May. Waiting feels more nerve-racking than being in an interview. Although I am a bit late to the race, I hope there's still a solid chance for me to get in. Fingers crossed and goodluck to all in the same/similar boat.

Congratulations on the waiver.
You are not late. If they were not interested in you, they would not have sought a waiver for you.
Yes, you have to wait but if you go with the mindset that you will know by 1 May, it will make it easier.
The weeks ahead can really drag and you can start to feel pretty hopeless.
Focus on that other great plan for next year, enjoying your senior year and time with your friends and family. Keep working out.

Keep Faith.

No doubt that you still have a solid chance. Hope you will hear some more good news soon. We are pulling for you! And ditto what DrMom says!

Keep positive. If they took the time to run the waiver process, they are interested in you. My DS got his waiver within 30 of waiver process notification. Once the waiver came through, it was less than a week before he received his offer letter. You may have to wait longer for a reply, but you are now on the RC's radar if you are 3Q.

I know what you mean, been waiting for cfa to be reviewed by admissions team for 4 months now.

My waiver process was rather quick however.

Just got to remember that waiting is 90% of the battle.

Wow that's crazy, I hope your CFA gets reviewed anytime soon. I was honestly less anxious preparing for the CFA versus waiting for the results for the CFA.

Honestly haha.

My regional commander qualified it ages ago, for whatever reason, that final check mark just isn't appearing. (Got check marks next to both videos). Anytime I contact RC, they just give "oh yeah it'll be checkmark once reviewed", rather than giving me a timeline.

MY DS had similar situation on the Air Force ROTC scholarship application. They never checked off his fitness test after months of him completing so I inquired finally in February as it stated through the portal it would be checked off after it was reviewed. Their response said he missed the deadline for the boards and that they never received it! I emailed them the proof of when it was submitted and said this was not our fault and DS should not be penalized for something that slipped through. At the time there was one board remaining in March and they need to honor on their end and make him eligible to at least compete for a slot. Long story short they did push it through finally. I am not sure how competitive he will be with only one board remaining but the point being until its marked complete I would stay on top of it. He has already received an Army Scholarship, but we are still waiting on Navy, Air Force Scholarship responses, USNA and USMA.

I just got 3q'ed this morning, I guess I just had to wait a few more days. Now the real waiting can begin!
That all depends. Do you have an LOA? My DS got his appointment days after his med waiver because the MC was watching it with his LOA hanging out there. Things are a lot busier now with admissions season at high speed. Best of luck since you are now officially in the race.

I did not receive a loa, nor do I know how one receives one.

Mine is pending too since November. Sent a message last week asking for it to be reviewed and no change yet.

LOA's are typically given to athlete recruits and exceptionally qualified candidates. They are very rare and usually appear very early in the application.
I don't know how accurate that is. I received a LOA, I'm not a athlete recruit ....still waiting on acceptance. The wait is crazy
