I just got a call from my Congressman Ron Klein, I will join many of you as a USMA Cadet Class of 2014! Hooah!
 
A nomination from your congressperson does not mean your automatically in. Why do you conclude you are getting an appointment?
 
Many times the Congressman/Senator will call and congratulate an appointee from their office -- I am sure this is what happened here. Congratulations on your appointment! Enjoy the rest of your senior year. :smile:
 
Well, I've already received a call for a nominaition a month ago. I asked four times if it was indeed an appointment. Which it was, USMA sometimes notifies the MOC's so they can present the news first. Which is what he told me. I made sure it was an appointment!

Congrats!

You're very lucky that they looked at your application so quickly since I believe you just got your CFA in after the Christmas break if I remember correctly. Did you have an LOA? My son got his CFA in on 12/16/09 (the last piece needed) and we've been told that it will be weeks before the committee takes a look at his application.

Congrats! I will at West Point next year as well. Are there any other females on this board that have been appointed other than myself?
I received my nomination Dec. 18, and my appointment was on my portal Dec. 23. Seemed pretty quick!

What happened to your portal when your appointment was on it?

Hey I am also a female. I don't have the official appointment yet, but I have word from my MALO to watch the mail. Congrats!
 
Nice to see some other girls on here!

I kept checking the mail for the appointment to come, and I got sick of waiting and just looked on my portal, and there was a section at the bottom to decline or accept the appointment. and there was an instruction guide talking about R-Day, what to bring, expect, etc. And also 4 information pages to print off and mail in.
I still haven't received the certificate and folder thing yet...I don't know if it got lost in the mail or what. They are supposed to be sending another one, because it's been a month since they sent the first and I never got it.
