I have finished myp pre cal this semester(weighted same as honors) and ended with a 92. Should I continue next year taking IB Cal AB or IB Cal BC (harder)?

either way i think i'll have to end up taking AP test for either one.

both are already considered advanced courses but will USNA rather a candidate take the most rigorous and maybe end up with a B?

Take the most rigorous course that you can do well in.

I would personally continue on with calculus. Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are asking, but don't you have to take math the following year anyway? And even if you get a B you should be fine. Just try your hardest to do well :thumb:.
I am a senior taking AP Calculus BC this year. Also, a B isn't neccessary that bad, especially if it is a harder class. Like I said, strive to do your best though. I am personally am a B average student with unweighted gpa of 3.23... and my MALO for WP told me to be looking out for my appointment in the mail this week .

Addition: I reread your question and understand what you are asking. I took AP Caluclus AB junior year and then AP Calculus BC senior year. Take AB first, is my advice, because BC continues on with what you learned about in AB. While some of it is repetitive from AB, it will be easier to understand BC after taking AB.
Also, are you a sophmore? You can take AB junior year like I did and BC senior year. The AP test for BC gives you 2 different grades: one for AB and one for BC. So I would highly reccomend taking AB first. Good luck!

Don't know if you should take this advice but my precal teacher said if you have an A in the class go for BC and if get below go for AB (we also have to chose between these but most in my class will probably go with BC since most have a 'A' in the class).

So, go for BC in my opinion and give yourself a break senior year with AP Stat or something.

Two separate issues . . . First, does it make a difference in your chances of obtaining an appointment? No. Second semester classes aren't relevant for admissions this year -- provided you don't fail.

Second, what is better for plebe year USNA? Sticking with the highest level math course will help you prepare for USNA math courses, which are hard.

Thus, your call.
