My pre-questionare was just accepted and now a deadline of November 1st appears, is that the deadline i must complete the entire application?
Everything that you control. If you can’t get scheduled with your DoDMERB provider until after that, those things happen. You have no control over when your elected official noms will be submitted, so that’s not included. Everything you have to upload or send in or accomplish yourself, the clock is now ticking. Your due date is earlier because you’re in the system now. Organize your To Do list and set hard targets for yourself, especially the CFA. Don’t plan on late October for that, because bad weather, illness or injury, family emergency or sudden unavailability of your administrator could derail you. Think how great you will feel if you are all done with submissions by September. My pre-questionare was just accepted and now a deadline of November 1st appears, is that the deadline i must complete the entire application?
Is the CFA a hard deadline? I thought that it was similar to the DoDMERB because it is reliant on your proctor's availability. I don't remember if I turned mine in the second week of October or November.Everything that you control. If you can’t get scheduled with your DoDMERB provider until after that, those things happen. For things you might want to update, there are ways to do that.
Would an example of something I can't control be something like my congressional nomination? As interviews start early October and I don't get results till like late NovemberEverything that you control. Re-read my post!Would an example of something I can't control be something like my congressional nomination? As interviews start early October and I don't get results till like late November
Did she also receive her nomination before the November 1st deadline? And I appreciate this!!I'll just add that when my DD was going through the process, she too had a Nov 1 deadline. It was great to know upfront when everything was going to be due and she was proactive in finishing her application early, by early September.
Start now and reach out to your teachers/coaches/guidance counselors, etc... for contact information for over the summer. It's good to give them a heads-up that you will need a letter of recommendation, transcripts, etc...
Start doing practice CFAs to see where to stand against the averages and how to max out events or work on improving low areas. think about who and where you can complete your CFA.
I believe since her application was complete early on, it was also easier to get that ALO interview complete before the ALO had many interviews to complete for other candidates. ALO interview was easy to schedule and submitted in a very timely manner.
It was much easier for her to write essays, practice, CFAs, gather and follow-up with folks doing letters of recommendation and have everything organized for nominations over the summer when school is out and academic load is low. I can't tell you how many times, she mentioned in beginning of her Senior year that she was glad her application was in and it was out of her hands. At that point, she it was just a waiting game.
Best of luck to you during the application process!
And also, I already have my letters of recommendation, working on my essays, as well as practicing for the cfa, only concern now are my test scores! Thank you for clearing things up about the nominationsI'll just add that when my DD was going through the process, she too had a Nov 1 deadline.
