For the Summer Seminar Resume do you have to include a cover letter introducing yourself and stating why you would like to attend etc.?

I didn't do this and was accepted last year. I don't remember the application from last year but isn't there a character limit in the box that you type your information (is there even a box... I can't remember)? If so, I think a cover letter would take up too much room, and therefore unnecessary.

Theres a text box where you can paste a word document or write it in and i dont think there is a limit atleast not on the AFA one

Ok. I still wouldn't submit a cover letter though. It's up to you if you want to add that as it shouldn't be looked at negatively. Maybe others who are going through this process now will reply with what they did. Best of Luck!!

No, a cover letter isn't necessary. The "resume" is somewhat unformal, and as long as you have something that looks professional and without errors you will be okay. In fact, this year it should be easier than ever to be accepted to SS because of the opening of a third time slot.

I don't see it really fitting the application. I guess you can put it in with the resume, since it is just a text box. But I see no purpose in it. I would just go ahead and copy/paste a resume, that's all I did.
