Nevada Noms?

Anybody here from Nevada get their nominations? I got mine a month ago from Congressman Dean Heller for the USAFA.

I've been waiting for this thread!

Our son received his 3q letter and his LOA in early December and then received a nomination from Heller to USMA, and another nomination from Reid to USMA just after.

Today he called his liaison who told him that no candidates from our area have had their nominations updated on their portals and that we may need to wait until the beginning of February. How are you and your parents holding up?
 
Both my parents and I check just about every day on the Admissions website. I also scower the forums constantly :D. But I've tried to kinda put it in the back of my head and worry about other stuff (like baseball and AP classes!)

I'm 3Qd also but didnt have a LOA. Got everything turned in about a month and a half ago. So I'm hoping on an early appointment!

Seems your camp is pretty set, just waiting for that big envelope to come!

Looks like you are both in similar positions......wait, wait, and wait a little longer! Study for finals, stay positive and keep me posted when you hear and I will do the same.

I know waiting is tough!! But the good news is you haven't been rejected! As long as you are still in the pool, you have a chance. Our son last year received 3 noms before xmas, then a fourth about now -- (Air Force & Navy) ... he heard in March ... so, hang in there ... and good luck!
 
Yup. I've come to the fact that I'll probably heare around march or april if I got in. I'd rather enjoy my senior year and let the letter come when it comes.

One of my son's nominations showed up online today! :thumb: It won't be long for yours to be there, too!

Mine for the Air Foce has been up since the Air force got back from break. Maybe the USMA is updating theirs more slowely.

Yup done with finals. Grades are still good!

We got notified of his nomination in early December but it just showed up on his candidate portal today! Now we just need to wait until USMA puts all of the pieces together (3q+LOA+Nom) for him to get his appointment offer. Our boys finished their finals today as well. Then off they went for a tournament this weekend. Congrats on being done with finals and for your continued good grades!

We have some friends who's kids are up at McQueen, too! Doesn't sound like you and our boys have competed though! You are older than our football playing son, and our oldest has only competed in wrestling. We wrestle you guys this week at McQ.

I'm not just an alum, I'm the original alum! My class was the first graduating class out of McQueen! Sad huh?

We're hoping that the snow keeps going and we get a delay or a snow day tomorrow! How much is up in your area?

My mom was in the first graduating class also! Wow what a small world.
We have only got a little bit today. We got a fair amount thrusday, but I don't think we will see another snow day for a while.

I'm hoping for a snow day because I only have 5 days until I'm off track! I teach Kindergarten at the school here in our neighborhood!

It is a small world! We had a really small class at McQueen! Did your mom graduate in 1984? :eek: I was a cheerleader and I still stay in contact with a couple of the girls I cheered with. I wonder if your mom and I knew each other? On top of that, both of us having boys who want to go into the academies the same year? Weird!

How long do you have off before baseball officially begins?

Baseball tryouts are at the end of February. I don't remember the exact date, but they are still a ways out.

I'd love to have another short week! Doubt it will happen though! What a small world huh? Tell your mom that we will be thinking happy thoughts for you and waiting for good news for both of you boys!
 
Our son got a call from his liaison yesterday telling him to watch the mailbox. Hopefully, his offer of appointment is on the way! :biggrin:
