Appointee Kit Q&A

Logged into my portal to work on the Appointee kit and cannot find the security clearance form in any of the sections anymore. I'm sure I am just scrolling past it, does anyone know what section you can find the security clearance form?

DS couldn't find it, either. Thankfully, we had already printed it out but it seems that section is now gone.
 
How long does it take for the appointee kit to appear on the portal? My appointment was offered and accepted this morning.

(I am eager to get started on it)

You should contact admissions if you have been waiting that long. I contacted admissions after not receiving the kit for 3 days after I accepted and they worked with IT to manually add the appointee kit to my portal.
 
Did it not allow anyone else access to 2026 Appointee Handbook when they attempted to download it?

Keeps saying “The file could not be opened”

“it may be damaged or use a file format that Preview does not recognize”

The Appointee Handbook and lack of a Security Clearance form has been fixed.

I was in a similar position last year. Upload it now to meet the suspense and then it will get kicked back to you after it is reviewed. As long as they're tracking that you'll be getting shots after the upload date, that is fine. Just come to I-Day with the completed vax record and they'll update it then. If they have any issues, a provider will contact you on a case by case basis.

You can buy custom iron on labels or a custom fabric stamp. We did the stamp for DS because he stuck with white. Honestly I doubt it’s a big deal, but moms like to be busy and do “mom things” so I did 😅

Has anyone else received an error message about an invalid zip code value? Trying to save the emergency contact info and it automatically added .0 to the end of the 5 digit zip code without us realizing it. We've tried several times to delete it/reenter data but it won't save the 5 digit zip, still says invalid data even after we fix it. If we log out and back in, the .0 reappears.

Is this something to email admissions or technical help? He's hoping to submit kit by the end of next week but don't know if it will be accepted with this error.

You can find the handbook on USAFAs website.

This happened with me as well… however I was able to simply delete the “.0”. Try again tomorrow, and if that doesn’t work try it on a different device (try using his phone perhaps). I do not believe you’ll even be able to submit the appointee kit if there is any invalid data, so if none of that works I’d go ahead and contact technical help.

Tried all of that today. We've used his laptop and my phone so far. Will keep trying...

It’s because you’re not getting all of the .0 when you delete them. There is probably one in another section you are missing, search well. Same thing happened to me but deleting them worked. You can’t save anything unless the whole thing has no errors which is pretty annoying lol.
 
DD has had an issue with the 0 dropping from the beginning of our zip code. Emailed tech support listed on the portal and they appear to have corrected the issue in all of the zip code questions except for the permanent home record at the beginning for the kit. Replied to them with that issue on Monday but haven't seen that corrected yet. I recommend emailing them the specifics of your issue.
