21 APR 2022 | Has anyone heard anything?

Sounds like there are a few of us still waiting.... nothing yet for our DS either... Our poor son is so eager to hear something. Already has plan B set up, but would really like to know final word one way or another on appointment, prep, or even FFS. I know we are not alone in the waiting game. Good luck to those still waiting....and hopefully we will all hear something soon.

Still waiting is a good place to be at this point. While being in limbo isn't great, it gives you an opportunity to keep working on plans B, C, D. Being on the bubble is better than having a TWE in hand, it just means you have to wait a little longer to know. DS was a bubble-sitter from mid-April until good news arrived on Mother's Day with an FFS offer. He's been living at 7,258 feet since August. Best of luck to all.

Our DD was accepted to USMA this morning and has 72 hrs to make her decision. She is hoping to hear from USAFA prior to that time. Proud either way.
She's obviously on the bubble for USAFA and if that's her top choice, it's good to realize both academies work to fill their incoming class up until the last day or so before inprocessing (USAFA has I-day, USMA has R-day?). There are stories on here where candidates have accepted at one and sometime later an appointment offer for their top choice arrives and then they reject the first one after having accepted it. As long as there's a couple of weeks before inprocessing at USMA, they'll be able to offer it to someone else. Most likely it would be someone who like your DD really wants to attend USMA but hasn't heard anything yet.

DD can reach out to USAFA admissions and explain that she has USMA appointment offer and is curious if she's in a position where she may end up with one from USAFA, these next few weeks bring several changes as both academies work to fill their incoming class. It's definitely not a unique situation, happens every year. It's okay to have USMA as a temporary "backup" plan for another couple of weeks while waiting for USAFA.

Just opened the portal this morning to a decision. My DS will be attending the USAFA Prep School.
We just found out yesterday our son has also been offered a sponsored prep school spot. Have you had a chance yet to find out how this all works? Being sponsored, do we have to pay or does the academy cover it?

"Sponsored prep" as in Falcon Foundation Scholarship? If so, then Falcon Foundation pays 50%, prep school discounts 25%, and candidate is responsible for last 25%.

If USAFA Prep School, that's completely different. It is a separate facility located at USAFA. Since I don't have first-hand knowledge on how USAFA Prep School works, I'll leave that to others to weigh in.

Our DD is still waiting as well. She emailed USAFA admissions two days ago notifying them of her acceptance to USMA and was wondering about a timeline. She received one back saying they are reviewing her materials and will hear back soon.
