Class '2026 Plebe Parents Weekend

Yeah I was noting that if I miss Thursday PEP due to a long line, I will have a card on Friday and get in earlier / easier and then make PEP.
We were planning on seeing it thursday last year, but coming form west coast .... either didn't wake up in time or it was canceled (weather) thursday sorry forgot and we went friday as early as we could get over there and there was a long line but we made it!

When the companies marched out our plebe's company was not there (they went to an obstacle course they missed out on another day). But we enjoyed watching Major Antonelli put them thru their exercises even with shouts of "sanitize, sanitize, sanitize"! So, be prepared for weather, delays, etc.

SO .... it's always easier to get in with a card but line was still quite long to get to the door.

I'll have to look again, but I didn't think there was anything worth taking the day off and driving down Thursday for us. Our plan is to just meet the plebe after noon formation on Friday for liberty.

I personally have no desire to get up at 0430 to drive to watch my son exercise! I've done enough of that for my own exercise over the years. More power to all of you!

If this year’s PPW is holding true to recent versions, the plebe parade is on Friday morning. That’s worth attending. Plebes show the stuff they’ve been working on, complete with dressed-up white works, mid covers and rifles. It’s quite a sight — the first real pomp and circumstance for the 4th Class Regiment.

My understanding is that they have had parades almost every Friday over the last few weeks. We were actually thinking of going down today for the one they held, but we had to take my wife to B-More for a medical appointment at the same time, so couldn't.

If we were staying close, I could see us all attending the PPW parade, but I can't see driving back and forth 3 times during the day living 40 minutes away (parade, noon formation, getting him back before liberty ends). Seeing them march out in summer whites for noon formation will be pretty darn awesome in my book!

26 Report: DS, a Platoon Commander (2nd Set Plebe Summer) reports that his Company Plebes are great, well trained, motivated, doing fantastic. Its been busy for them and him but all is well. Plebes loved the Bowie baseball game and proudly wore their summer whites, They are now focussing on being ready for the marching competition. Another class starts the journey. You will be amazed at Parrents Weekend. Bravo Zulu 26!

The parade is Saturday morning.

Going to Mass (or whatever denomination) at the chapel with your plebe was pretty cool…

Do the detailers get any time off during PPW?
They do. Many head out for some R&R, whether in Naptown or a bit beyond. Do laundry. Visit sponsor family. Nap. Relax. Exercise. All the things they haven’t been able to do the last couple weeks. Detailing PS is grueling work and they too need a physical, mental and emotional break.

Rest assured, they’ll be energized come Sunday evening — highly motivated to kick it up a notch for the last few days of PS.

My MID reports in a letter that the day after the Baysox outing, the beating was the worst they have ever had. It was intended to "remind everybody where they are and lock every back in". I can only imagine the Monday after PPW.
Mine said the same. Made the walls sweat twice before lunch.

Good morning. Catching up with social media this morning and just read this.
Sponsoring your own DD or DS, is that allowed?

not sure why you would need to? You would have the ability to fulfill ‘sponsorship duties’ as a parent, as is.

My guess, since you live locally, is you will not only occasionally host your DD/DS, but their mates on occasion. That’s how things have gone for my guys who have friends with local parents. A dinner here and there. Thanksgiving. Mail drops. Birthday cake drop offs.

Thank you that’s whit I thought
