Sup's job posted

I already put in my app :shake:

Will be interesting to see 1)Who applies (we'll never know), 2) The finalists, and 3) the final selection.

Can't wait and hope whoever is selected continues to honor the traditions of the school.

The first question in the interview should be do you plan on attending Kings Point's homecoming if selected as the Supe?

I would like to see a GRADUATE of the USMMA. Since it is such a unique school, unlike the other Service Academies, USMMA deserves a Super that understands it, that will uphold traditions and move it forward so it's graduates can immpact the world's Maritime industry. I would also like to see that USMMA gain full statis and be funded as the other Service Academies.

I disagree with the push that it needs to be a graduate. VADM Stewart was not a graduate and I think over time will be thought of as one of the best the school has ever had.

If a graduate is the most qualified, then absolutely, and maybe graduates should get a point or two bonus on the application, but we would be remiss to not at least look at some of the likely highly qualified candidates who may apply.

We need someone who is as deft at politics as they are at leadership. We need a strong person who understands the traditions of the school and a seagoing service. We need someone who will invest their time in the school and maybe even consider skipping their own homecoming. Most of all, we need a Maritime Administrator who will work with and for the school and not against it's leader. We also need someone who can once again rally the alumni and bring together those who may have "wandered off" due to their position on the recent happenings at the Academy.

We need a leader who will not be bullied or have the wool pulled over their eyes by Company Officers. In fact, we could probably use someone who will take a look at all positions at the Academy and retain those who are stars and find replacements for those who aren't. We also need someone who will work with the professors to ensure both sides of the classroom are treated fairly. We need a Supe who will honor the traditions of the regimental system and the honor system. I vote for a Supe who will allow the Midshipmen Officers to run their Regiment with wise guidance from above and "just enough" rope.
