I finally have the 5 year member tag to lend misplaced credibility to my SAF musings. Awesome.
Whoa. BZ. So glad you are here to lend currency and deckplate perspective.

First log across - black walnut. Precursor for a fireplace mantle. 8x8x84 inches, then the 1x slab wood from the log for shelving or other projects.

From an online leadership development (yes, leadership can always be further developed for the rest of your life or until you are no longer able) forum I participate in, an interesting concept from a guest speaker:

"Be a Fountain, Not a Drain." A fountain gives, replenishes and creates. Drains transact, swallow and take away.

Many are attending the USNA Halloween concert around this time of year, always a highlight with a professionally lit show and sound system in the Chapel. Look on YouTube for past performances. Phantom of the Opera, etc.

This is a vintage gem from 2016. A slow set of goosebumps. And if you like organ music, acclaimed Chapel organist and musical director Monte Maxwell literally pulls out all the stops on the Chapel organ.

Finally, for people who appreciate rock-star organs, here are some stats on the USNA organ. Vibrates your breastbone. Kills on “Phantom.”

I have always thought "Battle Hymn of the Republic" was the best choral arrangement in any venue with great acoustics. That video was amazing. Other than the day of her birth my proudest moment with my Daughter was walking her down the aisle in the Chapel. Her cousin (opera trained) sang Ave Maria from the pulpit at the ceremony, and it was an amazing day. OK watching her get whacked with a Sabre on the steps was a highlight also.
