Tomorrow I am scheduled to have an interview. I would appreciate any information on what to expect. Also should I bring any copies of my supplemental application materials? Thank you in advance.

When I had mine last year it was basically a talk. We went into the conference room and he asked me questions about why I wanted to attend the Coast Guard Academy and such. My best advice is to think before you speak and speak confidently. And try your best to speak properly. Dont use "like" "you know". Stuff like that. LTJG Parker didn't take notes but if your officer does, ignore it or you will sike yourself out too much. Good luck!

You shouldn't need to bring anything to the interview. The Academy already knows your grades, your class rank, your SAT, etc etc.

The interview process is to allow the Academy to better understand things about you that don't show up on paper. It's your chance to say one more time to the CCEB: "Pick Me!"

There are no "standard" questions, each AAP is free to ask whatever they wish.

However, you should be prepared for the standard questions about motivation to attend the USCGA and desire to serve as a Coast Guard officer, questions about difficult decisions you have had to make, questions about honor and character, etc.

Good Luck!

One question that my son's interviewer asked was about his favorite book. Good thing he had just finished reading something other than the Halo manual for Xbox 360.
