I took my DoDMERB eye exam and physical in early October and still haven't received any update since October 26th when my file was updated to "Incomplete-Closed". I have emailed the help desk and have done everything I can to find some updates and still know nothing. What do I do now?

call DoDMETs. ( if you can’t get through initially tray again in an hour or so and continue until you do)
Ask them to tell you exactly why it’s been filed as incomplete.
Call the Dr in question and inform them of the exact reason. Ask that they correct and resubmit ASAP.
Call DoDMETs to follow up every couple of days until “incomplete” has been removed.

As Ddm66 has stated, these issues can sometimes sit and sit until you get involved to actively resolve whatever issue might be hanging. It shouldn’t be that way but unfortunately if you want it done you might have to get involved. Example: My son did both exams and doctor made two errors, 1st was they put a “4” instead of a “3” on the first number of his sitting height, then 2nd the doctor forgot to sign one of the pages. This was after days waiting for them to resend to the correct phone number. Finally the representative at DODMETS told me the issues and after taking my son to be remeasured and me calling the doctor’s office daily for almost a week they sent it directly to the DODMETS representative and issue was resolved. I don’t know how long it would have taken without my involvement. Also note, this was almost four weeks ago when DODMETS marked it “complete” then finally “closed” and sent results to DODMERB and we still have not seen his final determination show in his portal (son has no medical issues.) DODMETS phone number is listed on their website. Don’t be afraid to use it and find out exactly what issues remain. Good luck!

The same thing happened to my daughter. Now that it's closed and received by DoDMERB, Dodmets will probably tell you to talk to them. Call or email them for sure, but POSSIBLY, there may be nothing you need to do. Below is a response I posted on a different thread pertaining to my daughters experience...

Background...My daughter's exams were early-mid September. She had some back and forth with Dodmets on a few things and on 9/30 her status in Dodmets was "Complete". We waited all through October and into November and finally on Nov 11 her status in Dodmets changed to "Incomplete-Closed" and received by DoDMERB. We were like What??? It's been complete for a month and a half and now it's incomplete??

Assuming Dodmets would know why it's incomplete, she emailed her case manager at Dodmets (who had up to that point been very responsive) and got nothing. She then emailed dodmets help and received a response after a couple days that she needed to contact DodMERB directly. She emailed DodMERB asking about the incomplete-closed status and what she needed to do....days and days went by with nothing. In the meantime she received a DodMERB conditional appointment to the USCGA. Then out of nowhere a couple days after that, she finally got a response to her DoDMERB email that her medical exam was reviewed and she is qualified! Two days after that, it was received by USCGA and BAM! Full Appointment!

Moral of the story, the status you see may or may not mean anything! Regardless, it's very stressful!!

Best of luck on a speedy resolution!

I have tried every phone number. This is making me think if I should just go and take another physical and eye exam. It has felt unusually long.

If you haven't already, be sure to contact DoDMERB. At this point, they should be more help than Dodmets. Their e-mail address is dha.ncr.dod-merb.mbx.helpdesk@health.mil and their phone number is 719-333-3562.

I would hesitate to do the exams all over again as that may REALLY confuse matters further and muddy the water.

The DODMETS phone number I called was: (215) 587-9600 ….. I usually got the same person each time. They were very helpful and at least could trace it through their system and tell you status and what was “incomplete.”
