Deferred? Tap in here

Same. Someone on another thread said their daughter was deferred, and they told her to work on her fitness score... Anyone else get anything like that?
My DS has a friend who was also advised in areas to improve before the RA application review. I think it is positive and thoughtful that they give those suggestions so one knows which areas are the weakest in the application. That way energy is focused where it is needed most. Good luck on a second chance for a review!

Agree. So it's a bit discouraging that no specific feedback was received. All they requested was an updated transcript and an additional personal statement. Oh well, at least the door isn't closed. Good luck, all.

Out of pure curiosity, do you know if your son/daughter submitted the optional 4th personal statement with their application?

Good luck!!!

Does everyone’s Bear’s den look the same or will it change? My DD accepted the opportunity for RA and sent in all documents with confirmation emails that they got them. Her Bears Den looks the same. Just wondering.

My DD submitted all the follow up documents, her semester grades and transcript, a new personal statement, and completed her DODMERB exams, so now we wait...... for EA applicants, is it common to have to wait until March 31/April 1 for a final decision or do they start rolling out before? Just curious how long we will be in limbo awaiting final news.

The EA applicants that are deferred to RA usually do not hear any sooner than the rest of the RA applicants. Usually decisions start coming out sometime in March, but it varies slightly each year. If an applicant is deferred from EA, then USCGA found them highly qualified and competitive, but they wanted to compare them to applicants in the RA pool. That means that they probably will not hear anything until USCGA Admissions has reviewed most or all of the RA applicants, in addition to reviewing any additions to their packets that the EA applicants have made.

My DD was deferred from EA last year and finally heard on March 31st that she got in! She received a phone call before the email finally came. It was a nail biter! But she is a 4c now and loving it!

I read somewhere on here that last year, the next round of notifications started around the last week of February or the first week of March. They are reviewing the RA applications as well as the EAs that were deferred( for a second review) before they can begin notifying a new round. I think if you hear sooner, it's an unexpected blessing.

Good Luck to all! We should start getting some appointment notifications soon!
We are eagerly awaiting information-- I know others have experienced and are experiencing this feeling of limbo! My DD has a plan B, but is so committed to Plan A that the idea of anything else is unappealing to her. As classmates have their admissions decisions and acceptances from colleges rolling in, she is anxiously waiting to hear back. Hoping decisions start rolling out soon!

My DD is in the exact same situation. She wants it so bad and we feel good she has done everything possible to make it happen.
Good luck to all.
