Hey, I am a 17-year-old female of Mexican American roots In my Junior year of high school. My family has a military past and my father was going to do marines but was unable after an injury at boot camp. I am interested in attending USAFA but i am unsure how likely I am to get in. I am applying the the USAFA Summer Seminar to see if it will solidify my decision or not to attend the academy if I get in.

Academics:
I currently have a 3.87 unweighted GPA and a 4.82 for weighted and am currently 72 out of 1,058 in my class. I took Literature and Composition I (English), AP World History, Ap Capstone, AP Research, AP European History, Naval Science, SGA, Honors Chemistry, Algebra Honors, Geometry Honors, Pre-calculus honors, Pre-calculus dual enrolled at University of Florida Dual enrollment Trig at a community collage, English Comp 1 at community college, US History at community college, Honors Bio, Honors Algebra 2, Dual enrolled Chemistry at community college, 3 years in a medical program at my school, Freshman and sophomore honors english, Spanish 1 and 2 honors, HOPE, Calculus dual enrolled at University of Florida, and Macro dual enrolled at University of Florida. There might be more but I can't remember at the moment. I generally get A-range grade and one B a year so I worry a little with my GPA since college is so competitive now.

Should I strive to take more AP's next year since I remember reading somewhere that out of state does not accept Dual Enrollment?

Extracurriculars:
I am an Eagle Scout, I staff a National Youth Leadership Training during the Winter and Summer, I am in NHS, Rho Kappa (National History Honors Society), SGA (student Government Association), Phi Theta Kappa (International College Honor Society), Venturing, and a Lifeguard.

Sports:
  • Jr. Varsity Soccer (9th, 10th)
  • Varsity Cheerleading - Sideline and Competitive (9th, 10th, 11th)
  • Varsity Flag Football (9th)
  • Varsity Weightlifting (10th, 11th)
  • Varsity Track (10th, 11th)
  • Varsity Cross Country (11th)

Some other questions:
  • What exactly is the CFA? I've heard a lot about it but am unsure of it
  • What do you think my likelihood is of getting in?
  • Is there anything I should start working on or adding in general?

You look great.

CFA is the candidate fitness assessment. Search the forums for information - pushups, pullups, situps, mile run, shuttle run, basketball throw.

Nobody knows your chances without knowing your competition on slates.

Take the hardest classes your school offers, and do well on ACT/SAT to be competitive.

Thank you so much for explaining the CFA, because when I tried looking it up all that came up was a financial test and that didn't seem correct
