4-Year NROTC Scholarship Acceptance Thread

Soooo..... does it look like the 15% Tier 3 threshold of selects will be reached with this week's board results?
I know in my research that the percentages are always changing as scholarships that were offered are accepted, rejected, medically DQ'd, etc. As the percentages are right at that 15% cap number, I would expect that not that many more Tier 3 applicants will be selected in the coming boards. Though some of the alternate Tier 3's may get selected down the road as the powers that be get a better idea of the final numbers.

14.3% is 97 out of 675. So I think it will be keep this ratio in the following boards
There are a few rounding errors, and there are also some BOOST selectees in there that skew the numbers. Bur it's close enough for government work and we promise not to cut someone's arm off to get rid of the .3% 😮

What we need to see is who opts to shift to USNA or USMA if they get selected. If those who shift are Tier 3, then it makes space for another Tier 3. If not, we still have to stick to the 15% statutory limit.

Navy and MO are completely different. There are only 2 Marine Boards and they are presided over by completely different members.
Has anyone received notification about NROTC MO scholarship from the February board?

End of March is when the MO results typically come out. Depending on what district you are in - could be early April. Good luck.

Ugh... we are in Tennessee. He is scheduled to start Embry-Riddle at the end of June. The timing of all of this seems so last minute given that parents have to make financial arrangements etc. Oh well, it is what it is. Thank you for your response.

Is there a GPA that may be a cutoff for the NROTC scholarship? My son applied with Tier 2 major. He has lots of leadership and extracurricular activities: JROTC in high school, Eagle Scout, clubs, varsity sport, work, etc. I think he may not have been reviewed until the last board or this one. Is there any way to know if a scholarship may be likely. We have plan B and C already but just wondering. Thanks for any insight.

Completely understand and can relate. It only gets more "last minute" from here. Say goodbye to long-term planning. Best of luck - Embry-Riddle has a great ROTC program and is a beautiful spot to spend 4 years!

Isn't Embry Riddle all filled up for 2022-23 already, along with San Diego State?

Did you DS apply for NROTC or MO? I think it was the NROTC that was full for Embry-Riddle not sure for MO. I think they are different.

Ok...this is an interesting piece of information. Is it public info which schools are full for MO or NROTC for a given academic year? If so...where do you find that because that would certainly be useful for planning.

Navy Option schools have certain caps. As of right now, only ERAU and San Diego State have reached their caps.

Marine Option scholarships are funded differently and are not subject to caps. That doesn't mean every Marine Option gets their first choice but they are a horse of a different color.

HaHa...I like all your different euphemisms to describe us....horse of a different color, different animal, smoke signals from the wigwam. All terms of endearment I'm sure. If not why would you guys haul and dump us all over God's creation.

"......haul and dump" -- it just sounds impersonal. As I like to think of it, we welcome our Marine brethren with open arms and transport you with tender, loving care for your luxury cruise. We offer many new opportunities to hone your warrior skills on distant lands. We serve only the most nutritious luxury five-star meals and offer 5000 thread count silk cotton sheets for you to sleep upon.

I am betting you didn't buy any of that, but yes, I use many terms of endearment as I am a life-long gator sailor.

Love the Navy-Marine close sibling banter. I can’t imagine why Marines call it a “float on the boat” and we Navy folks fondly refer to it as a cruise on a ship that we treat as a living entity.

I was a grunt and did 6 months in the belly of LPH-2 Iwo Jima in 1992. We were told it was it's last cruise before decommissioning. At one point there was a party on the deck.. There was a rock band made up of Marine chopper pilots/crew that played a few times for the ship in the hanger deck. The new Iwo looks much nicer but..still fond memories. No complaints about the chow...but I'll eat anything and somethings I probably shouldn't.
