Research Paper Format for USMA

What is the required format for research papers at West Point? Is it MLA or ATA?

All departments are MLA except History which is Chicago Style. There are also USMA specific formatting added on to it like a USMA cover page and everything must be documented, even verbal discussions with other cadets about the assignment. USMA is really big on citations.

Are they still called Acknowledgement statements?

And I guess I must really be old since I've never heard of MLA, ATA, or Chicago Style formatting! :shake:

Yes, they're still called that. The ones you sign saying all your work has been cited or that you received no outside help or sources.

They didn't have those types of citation formats before?

I've never heard of any of them before reading this thread so I guess not!

Are we allowed to download programs that helps with formating, like APERLA, on the laptops they give us?
