USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

I’ve been lurking around on this thread for quite some time now. Y’all have certainly made the wait a little more bearable. I just received an update to my CFA - after 3 months of the scores being listed as “Qualified” they have now switched to “Rejected”. I knew my scores were borderline but it’s very disheartening to receive this news after thinking I was still eligible for an appointment for so long.

I was curious whether I would still be eligible for NAPS or Foundation, or if this is for sure the end of the line for this year’s cycle.
Sorry to hear that. Was your application listed as CPR and then changed?

Oh no! Is this really a thing? Can I ask what your scores were? I've done a lot of reading on this forum and have never come across this happening. After a quick Google search, I couldn't confirm that a passing CFA score is required for NAPS. I did read on the forum that *typically* those that fail the CFA are not selected for NAPS. Hopefully someone else could chime in (@Capt MJ ?) Honestly, this doesn't make sense to me.

😳 OMG this makes me nervous!!! My DSs CFA was boarderline but has shown qualified since he submitted them. We would be devestated if this happens.
We are still believing that we are still in the game until we hear otherwise.

The next status change will likely be the decision. This is not unusual to be in CPR for months. USNA has an aspirational target date of 15 April to inform candidates.
Great, I am visiting USNA Tuesday so hopefully that brings me some good luck. Thank you!

My application was listed as CPR when the scores were initially approved back in January. The CFA status changed yesterday, but as of now the overall status is still CPR. I’m expecting it’ll get processed into a rejection soon.

I don’t remember my exact scores, but the section I had trouble with was the run. My run was over 9 minutes, and the other sections were right around or a little over the averages.

I also had an issue in January where my CFA was marked as qualified before I had even taken it. I was able to call admissions and get that resolved, but I wouldn’t be shocked if a similar mistake had been made to initially mark my actual CFA as passing.

(By the way if any ‘28 candidates are reading this PLEASE start working on the CFA now and save yourself this issue. I totally could’ve avoided this whole mess if I’d given myself enough time to train and have unquestionably passing scores.)

DD is in same proverbial boat - CPR, Medical X, 1 DQ for old Medical issue. We are assuming at this point that unless she was notified of a waiver then one is not being considered. She is moving on from this years USNA cycle and focusing on other options as it seems the most realistic outcome.
Does anyone know the answer to this ? My son same boat with the x for medical. Sorting through something. I’ve been told that you still get your acceptance in portal regardless of med status . Someone else on here stated you have until you walk through the gates on IDay to sort out waiver or complete medical . Can anyone speak to this ?

My DS got a conditional LOA pending medical waiver. So it’s not quite an acceptance.

You have to be medically qualified to get an appointment. Then once you get an appointment you still have to stay medically qualified with no significant changes up to i day. For example if you tear your ACL in May you would not be able to attend I day and could get pushed back to next year. You can get an LOA contingent on medical getting qualified.

I have to ask this. Is there a surefire way to figure out if you are board qualified. I was told by my AC that I was QNS but someone else in admissions said that I did not qualify last year. Is there a surefire way to find out and how should I go about this

Being the parent of a prospective candidate for the Class of 2028, I have spent these last 12 months studying what goes into all of this as my wife and I are total novices. This forum has been a godsend, and this thread, in particular, has provided a wealth of information. Also, I feel like I am living and dying with all of the parents and these amazing young men and women who have delved headlong into this all in the name of service. Your resiliency and relentlessness are things to behold, and with April 15 one week from today, my heart is with all of you...parents and kids. This is of little consolation, and none of you know me, but I hope you realize that, no matter the outcome, you are better for it. You truly are. BZ.

The waiver status will show up in your portal. You may receive an email telling you if a portal update.
Thank you Capt MJ! I have in my DoDMERB portal 1 DQ, USNA Under Waiver Review posted 8/19/22. I received an email from USNA on 1/17/23 that DoDMERB was back up and running and to look out for emails with any additional materials needed and that it may take 3-4 weeks for DoDMERB to update it's system. My doctor's letter stating I have never been diagnosed with the medical condition I was DQ'd for was added to my DoDMERB file by my DoDMERB coordinator on 1/18/23, supposably.
I then started the process for a NROTC scholarship in February and much to my surpriseI received the NROTC 4 year scholarship in late February. I then received an email from DoDMERB on 3/2/23 NROTC 1DQ Under Waiver Review. I was surprised that NROTC issued me an Under Waiver Review since supposably my medical letter is in my DoDMERB file.
On 4/7/23 I sent in my required forms to CMGO for NSI this coming summer to activate my NROTC scholarship incase I don't receive an appointment to USNA or NAPS. These forms include my sports physical signed by my doctor along with other medical questions.
Is there anything else I can control at this point? I want to do everything I can control so nothing slips under the cracks.
As you can see, I am very much desiring to serve in the US Navy and commission as an officer. I've got my plan A,B,C, & D in place.
I'm checking both USNA and DoDMERB portals daily for any change but they remain the same.
