USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

Hi everyone, DS already Got the BFE and uploaded all the documents. Do you think we need to continue with plan B? Meaning do we pay the university fee (still waiting for NROTC scholarship)? and what if he gets the NROTC, can we decline on I-day? Should we accept Even though he already accepted the offer of USNA? Too many doubts… but plenty of happiness.
Does he want USNA or NROTC?

If NROTC, why did he accept offer to USNA?

If USNA, what is the question?

DS turned down as well. His reaction; "Let's GO Air Force". Its off to the wild blue yonder !
We may very well see you there! My DS was waitlisted today for USNA. USAFA was a really close second choice, so while he's very thankful to still be "in" it for navy, there is a big part of him that would just like a solid yes/no so he can be excited about where he's going.

Best wishes to all of you that you have a plan you can be excited about too.

DS got Turned Down this afternoon, and then he accepted his offer from Virginia Tech and his NROTC scholarship. He is disappointed, but excited for his opportunities at VA Tech. Go Hokies!
Same! Our DS will also attend VT with NROTC scholarship. Today was hard for him, however he is excited about the Corps of Cadets and being a Hokie! ♥️🧡

TWE 1: April 14, TWE 2: May 2, TWE 3: April 12, and here I am this year at CPR. All of my applications have been down to the wire, and I can tell you the waiting does not get any easier on application number 4.
Was your TWE 2 off a wait list?

Also rooting for you. Are you in NROTC, and commission in a year, if a TWE??

I was not waitlisted, that was during the crazy COVID year and the new system. I'm probably the only candidate here who remembers the old CIS with that ugly yellow background 😂. I had a lot of bad things happen to me my freshman year of college (much of it my fault, some of it just plain bad luck) and I was set back in school a while. My school doesn't have NROTC, and at my current school I'd be set to graduate Spring of '26, so OCS is still pretty far away. This year if I do get another TWE I will be transferring to Auburn to do the NROTC college program.

I know that my stats from that first year kinda drag me down, but I know Navy likes a good rebound. I went from a 2.05 GPA and no extracurriculars to a 3.1 GPA and captain of the rowing team, undergrad chemistry researcher, organic chemistry tutor and TA, and won several cadet awards (I go to an SMC). Hopefully the comeback will get me a BFE, but if not, the application process helped me become more well rounded and disciplined.

Waitlisted! Accepted appointment to USCGA last week! Congrats to everyone, prayers for those still waiting, and best of luck to those taking a different path!
USCGA is AWESOME! Other DD is heading there After CGAS. You’re going to have a great education and career. Very different mission, but wonderful academy and wonderful service. Congratulations.
