Hello!!!

I am a class of 2028 hopeful at the USMMA and currently attend New York Military Academy. In recent years my prep school has come under fire because they're rumored to be owned by the Chinese Communist Party. I would transfer but cannot because I am here on scholarship. I promise I am loyal to the US of A. Will this be a problem when applying to one of the Nations premier service academies?

I appreciate any insight that could be offered.

Just check out the Wikipedia page for your school. The ownership is listed there. The school is owned by a non-profit group headed by a man, who is also CEO of a New York Stock Exchange listed company.

I don’t know anything about it. But I would guess it would be a bigger problem if the owner was applying.

Even if true - I can’t see how it affects you at all.

Yes that is true the school is owned by one of Vincent Tianquan Mo's nonprofits. He does has a company listed on the NYSE but he also is one of China's largest real-estate investors and has links to the CCP. Therefore, I am concerned this my affect me when being considered for a spot at the prestigious USMMA.

No one will think you a commie for attending that school just as no one will think you will take five deferments to avoid serving because you attend that school.

You are waaaaaaay over thinking/analyzing the variables.

I would be highly doubtful that Admissions knows, or cares, who owns any particular source. Nor would the Navy when it came time to conduct a background check for your security clearance at commissioning.
