What are each service's applicaiton and deadline dates? Are there any changes to the application process? Any reductions or additions in the numbers of scholarships?

Most here would have to research deadlines. Which you can also do.

As far as the rest? No idea. Or any idea how to know that info, factually.

I always recommend visiting ROTC programs at your nearest school, or interested colleges during summer admissions visits. Most provide sessions as part of visits. You can ask questions. A good source of info!

Good luck to you on your endeavors!

I would add that some schools may have unused scholarships left! My DD was contacted by a ROO earlier this month asking if she was still interested in ROTC because she never completed her application. Long story, she's hoping to secure a scholarship. I would recommend you contact the ROO for any school you're interested in and ask if they have any scholarship opportunities available.

Air Force has restructured their Scholarship process with less awarded up front, and more once you are in the program. There should be lots of information for each branch on their websites. Good luck!

Question - my student is considering ROTC for their sophomore year in college (did not do freshman ROTC). Recruiter said my student could possibly be nominated then go in front of national board for an interview for a scholarship to receive their junior year. My student would also need to do the 6-7 week ROTC boot camp next summer. When would my student find out if they are awarded a scholarship before their junior year - is it in the spring or summer when they find out? TIA

I'm not sure you are going to get an accurate answer without know which branch, and even at that, your student might get more accurate information and the timing of all that by asking the Recruiting officer you are referring to. Remember they will need to be medically cleared before they can contract, go to boot camp, or receive any scholarship money. This can be a lengthy process as in months, depending on medical history, so they should start on that as soon as possible once they decide they are going to join ROTC.
