My son chose Air Force. He sent his acceptance letter in today. I am so proud of him. He said he felt it was the best fit for him. I knew it was two years ago when I researched all the academies. As a Marine, it is tough to see him go Air Force, but I knew in my heart he will do great there. Now I will have to get Air Force Academy wear.
He also enjoyed his visit with the lax team. The coach also was a deciding factor.
Good luck to all. Hopefully we may meet down the road. I don't think we will make orientation because he will be in his lax season and he does not want to miss any games.

Woo Hoo!!! Congrats to your son - looking forward to meeting you guys some day! Sorry you can't make orientation, but it sounds like he's been out there enough to know what he's getting into (as do you). We're going more for the social side of it - I have a couple friends in COS, and son has a friend from summer seminar who lives there and is going to AF (and he's hoping his parents will be his sponsor as well), plus we want to ski and of course meet everyone from these boards! The actual orientation part isn't a huge priority since he's been out there 4 times already.

As prior Army, I guess I didn't have as much of a preference when my son was choosing between AF and Navy. Good luck to all of you!

hopefully your son improves the lax team and sets a good example.

goodluck to him.

Congrats. I know your pain, we are retired Army!! But we are so very proud that he is going to the academy. It wasn't near as painful as we thought to put on that Air Force gear, especially the lax stuff!! Congrats on the as well, as future lax parents hope to see you at a few games!!!

There is a Lax Parent's Club. I hope to join it, I already sent in my Parent's Club form for the Class of 2014. These kids are awesome kids and will do well for our country.

Congrats to you and especially to DevilPup. Choosing a college is a tough business but choosing a US Service Academy is truly a life-altering decision.

Congratulations to both you and your son :thumb: We're still waiting on the BFE, although our son has an appointment and is certain USAFA is the place for him. Hopefully we'll get the chance to meet at some point :)
